Will it shrink? We'll see...
Heavier than expected fabric: sturdy, thick cotton rather than muslin--not a bad thing, feels like it will be quite durable.
Sizing runs small: I'm buxom and somewhat broad-shouldered and long-armed with a 44" Bust measurement, and typically order a size up in women's shirts --the XL *just* fit before washing. Hand-washed carefully in cold water and line-dried (stretched it out as it dried) without noticeable shrinkage, but any possible, future shrinkage from more aggressive washing will make it too small.

This is a great piece! I am looking forward to wearing it with my new Cotton Twill Walking Skirt. The ivory color is deeper and nicer than the photo implies. As the other reviews state: this blouse is not breathable. I am not bothered by this since my California Gold Rush "living history" day will be hosted outside in the autumn and I think that this blouse will be very comfortable in that setting.

The blouse was beautifully made. The fit is excellent, and the look authentic. I had to return the product, though, as it was too heavy -- or coarse --a fabric for what I needed. That's nothing against this blouse itself.

I volunteer at a local museum 2 days/week. This blouse is perfect for the "Little House on the Prairie" look I wanted. Needs ironing, but the material is really nice, size as stated (!), and very comfortable. I love the ivory/ecru color as well. I can even wear outside the museum. Really happy with this purchase and service of Historical Emporium.

I ordered a large although I usually wear a medium, because some reviews stated the shoulders were narrow. The large fit just right. The cotton fabric is soft but sturdy, and the trim is lovely. I wore it with the black walking skirt for our Heritage Festival and received many complements.

The blouse is well made and of a slightly heavier than expected Peruvian cotton. Ivory can be an relatively undefined color. This blouse is a very pale soft butter yellow. The cuffs and the button placard have subtle same color detailing.
The blouse was purchased to wear while I work temporarily for a living museum. It looks the part.
Based on the sizing descriptions given and with a 42 in. bust measurement, I purchased a large . It fits well across the chest and back with no restrictions. The arm holes, at the time I received the blouse felt a little restrictive, but as I've worn the blouse they have not bothered me. Occasionally, though I am still a little conscious of the cut there. - this is the reason for the 4 and not 5 star.
The blouse is laundered with everything else I own - there has been no shrinkage. Nor has it required ironing. (Yea!)
The blouse looks great, and works well for my 1870's pioneer world. When my stint at the museum is over after tourist season, this is a blouse that I will to continue to wear in my 21st century life.

Disappointed but nice blouse
I ordered this to wear for a Living Cemetery event with our Historical Society. I loved the fabric, style, etc. of the blouse. But, it runs very small. I thought because of the looser style it would be roomier but it was not. Unfortunately I had to return it.

I love it, well made and simple but beautiful with the delicate lace. We have an 1839's homestead at the park we volunteer at so I will make recommendations to use your company.

Just what I was looking for. I don't do reenactments, but wear this whenever I please and get compliments all the time.
This blouse is lovely. The quality of the fabric and workmanship is great. I would not hesitate to order again.

This is a fabulous, well-made blouse that I imagine is fairly close in design to an original work blouse, though possibly those would have been linen. I am very happy with the fit, that was according to the chart very accurate, too.
