These pants arrived with some sense of unknown, because for what ever reason the Emporium's photos were done in such a way as to obscure details of its looks. The pants were illustrated without braces. From the back view the shirt drooped over the top band of the pants. My assumption was that the notch in the rear of the pants would have a wide deep ve as in other canvas pants I've ordered and this is not the case. The separation in the rear center of the pants is more of a deep cut, with the tac-buttons relatively close to each other. Another surprise was a small blob of grease about 2mm across; the smear marks indicated that it came off as incidental contact with a piece of machinery in the manufacturing or packing process. This is something I should have addressed to the Gentleman's Emporium because they do have a good reputation for resolving issues; however, I was confident of my ability to remove the spot and before hemming my pants they are washed first anyway to account for shrinkage. The spot was successfully removed. Yet another surprise surface after washing the pants, the sewn on waist band button fell off. This of course was another easy fix. The pants construction are quality with the exception of a waist band button which fell of after the first washing. The weight of the canvas is a bit lighter other canvas pants purchased in the past, but this is actually a plus, because the cut of the pants leans more toward dress pants than work pants. Albeit there were a few surprises in this purchase there are no regrets and if your looking for as white a pair of pants as the Emporium carry, these might be the pants your looking for.

I wore the golden paisley ascot, with the gold canvas vest, and black town coat to the Emerald Coast Beard and Mustache Alliance's 1st annual membership drive and beard competition; the ascot just draws a focus to what one wants in such a situation and that purpose is to be noticed. It is hard to describe how many people came up to me asking where to buy clothing which has such quality and looks so period authentic. At the end of the night I walked out with a best in show trophy! I know there were whiskers that matched mine, but the Gentleman's Emporium enabled me to sell the illusion of a fine dressed Victorian gent, matching my mutton chops and handlebar mustache. The focus need was toward the face and that flash of gold pulled in the focus right where it was needed. As always the Emporium delivered, quality and good service.

Was looking for a nice vest to wear about town and loved this red/black/white, look in these photos. As one other reviewer stated, this vest isnt too red. The color isnt so bright that it looks over-cooked. Craftsmanship was excellent. Very happy...

I spoke with a very polite customer service representative. She was very knowledgeable. I decided to go with the double black tooled leather gun holster. I live in Canada and was worried about the shipping. I received it approximately 10 days later and it was packaged very well. I have an original holster from Mexico which was made in 1960. The one I received from historical emporium is every bit as good as that one. Great quality, great price. Thank you.

The hat is not beige . It is white. The lace and the decorations are mostly white , and look cheap. It will work as a base, and I will alter and paint it to look "beige" as I had hoped, but it will take some work to make it look attractive and of high quality. Definitely not worth the price.

Very good product. Had to order the next size larger, but no problem altering it to a perfect fit. Good quality.

While I bought this primarily for a Steampunk convention, I also anticipate using it on vacation as the alternative to a fanny pack. The only thing I would change about it its to make it either in a longer size or longer belt extensions on it.

This watch is remarkably well built! Actual brass, glass, and bronze with a leather strap makes it something that I will be able to give to my future generations as an heirloom- something that I was not anticipating being able to do prior to receiving it! for the price, I was anticipating a mechanical watch, but with plastic parts and need to wind it every few hours. This was a fantastic surprise. Immediately purchased one for my father, who is a clock afficianato.

I received my coat when promised and absolutely love it. As other reviews have stated it runs small so I ordered one size up and it was still a little small so I am sending it back and getting the next size up. Usually I am a medium, ordered a large and will end up with an extra large, so do not be afraid to really size up. If it helps I am 5'8 tall, 135 lb. and chest size 36, remember this is a period coat and very fitted.The quality is great and the shape and buttons are wonderful. I am going to use this as my going out coat, not for a period piece and in my opinion will be a lot more fun to wear than just a millennium type black coat you would find in a retail store-AND the prices are great. Glad I found you!

I wore this hat to a church tea. Received many complements. The hat is well constructed and I have enjoyed it greatly. And black-and-white goes with just about everything I have. The wide-brimmed hat is excellent for keeping the sun off of one's face. If you're looking for a fun yet classy hat, this is the one for you. The price is very fair. You won't find this pricing in most hat stores in the Vancouver BC area!!

I wanted a simple comfortable and versatile pair of gloves. Which I found in this pair. They're comfortable I have slightly smaller hands and they still fit me well. I like the finishing touches of the buttons with little butterflies on them. The fingertips have a special patch that you can use your smartphones as well. I did like that. For the price you won't find a classier pair of gloves.

I wanted this belt for some time. But I was concerned it wouldn't fit me as a plus size woman. I am a size 18 and if that quite well. It really finishes off a number of my outfits. I highly recommend the belt. I am a sewer myself and I can tell you this is a quality product made with quality materials.

I like the look of these gun holsters. when I put my Rugger Blackhawk Revolvers in them they fit very good. I did not have to break them in like I did with the other set from another website. I will recommend the Holsters and Gun belts and the Historical Emporium.

I am a musician , in several groups and a soloist.I make no secret that musicians today seem to prefer to dress as if they are raking leaves rather that publicly perform and flatter their audiences. The regency Shirt caught my eye immediately and I ordered. The process was simple and I must say that THE FITTING CHART WAS VERY VERY HELPFUL ! and served to put away any fears that I would get an ill fitting product. Shipping was quick ! Two days later I had my shirt and straight out of the box was a dream and I wore it for three days, to a music festival where I was a performer/workshop host and just around the house. It is a durable ,quality product particularly the elastic in the wrists sleeves allows one to tuck in the lace out of the way if need be. This was not intended but as a steel guitarist and dobro-ist it proved helpful as the lace could impede playing( but that's beside the point). The beautiful lace wrists came out after the set to the delight (and envy) of my playing pals. The shirt is an east hand wash , line dried and returns to the original shape. I see it as durable and lasting a long long time. I am eager to buy another in Black . Wait until my Honey sees that one ! Thank You.

lovely jacket. They didn't have my size so I ended up getting a slightly larger size and having it tailored. The tailor liked the jacket. Price is as great as the quality.

Quality ascot. the black on black looks great. Substantial fabric. Took me a little while to figure out that the kerchief was attached to it. Had to google how to tie an ascot.

This is a sturdy piece of cane. The metal skull has good heft, feels good in the hand and I'm confident you could lay waste to any attackers.

The lab coats are great, very well made and a great copy of the original coat. I bought two, we have a costume teeth company and had our company logo embroidered on the coat that we wore in our booth at the St. Louis Halloween show. Everyone loved them! Good value for the money!

Let me start by saying that these pants seemed to be up to standard in terms of quality. But I sent them back for two reasons, costing them two stars. First, the fit was too big. Maybe it was a fluke, but it is what it is. Second, the color is... not any kind of taupe I've ever seen. To my eyes they have a greenish tint, and they are darker than I would have thought. I didn't find the color pleasing. Of course, that is a matter of personal taste, so, take it for whatever that's worth. If you want a solid pair of trousers that aren't the same old plain brown, you've found them. The fabric is nice weight, by the way. Lots of body, but not unpleasantly thick.

My experience with polyester, including blends, has been a love-hate thing for a long while. I have to watch what I spend on any one costuming item, so it makes certain things attainable for me... but generally doesn't look top-notch, or lacks a bit in how it's put together. Sometimes, though, I get lucky. This coat is an example. The fabric doesn't have that awful polyester shine that even some blends have, and it feels quite comfortable. The fit is nice, though a little roomy in the shoulders. But when worn with a full outfit, it looks right. I happen to prefer a two or three button front, but the color won me over, and I have to say that I feel the desire to buy the other colors. Oh, to be wealthy!

These boots are the real thing. Excellent leather construction and elastic calf partitions make this boot comfortable and elicits compliments on its top notch workmanship. I would highly recommend these boots in lieu of the non leather variety. These boots are tough and resistant to any knee high brush, venomous serpent or small dog of the biting strain. The soles are tough but not too aggressive in the tread. They are stitched and screwed on for easy replacement by an experienced boot maker. They are very comfortable to wear and come off easily with a boot jack or volunteer.

Well made and even coloration make this tie tack a bargain to add to your collection. Comes in a velour snap box. I would recommend this item to flesh out any gentleman's wardrobe.

I got this pocket watch for my boyfriend as a graduation present! He absolutely loves it! The window where you can see the gears is an awesome touch. I had hopes to get it engraved but there isn't really room with the design on the front and back. Other than that though I couldn't be happier--and neither could he!
