This is the only Emporium product that's ever given me trouble. On the first try, a button came off and the buckle adjuster looked off. Thankfully, customer service was great about it and soon a replacement was on the way. It's the perfect complement to a safari jacket and the Foreign Legion hat this site carries. With this vest on, I'm ready for any adventure slung my way!

I got these pants because I liked the very similar Sable pants and wanted something "dressier." They're extremely good-quality, and pair very nicely with the Livingston vest or really any outfit. Gives it a nice offset. Note, though, that until you first dry-clean them, they tend to pick up hairs and lint.

I got this shirt for a steampunk engineer outfit I was doing, and I love it! The buttons have a neat pattern on them. The shirt itself is nicely made, and (under a vest) it can double as a dress shirt in a pinch. Long story short, I like it. Keep it up, Historical Emporium!

Before I got this coat, the only frock coat I had was a wool one like the Griffith frock on this site. It wasn't optimal for outdoor summer shindigs, so I got this. I don't regret the purchase. Its colors are very nice, and the photos don't really do it justice. The material's good too; you can barely tell that it's polyester. The reason I ticked off a star is because of the lack of external pockets. It would be nice to have a place to put my hands. I still recommend it, though.

This inverness coat is awesome. A Little on the heavy side but I like the collar and length. Most others that I have seen or puchased get one or the other wrong and it throws off the sillouhette but this one got is just right. Can`t wait for cooler season to start to wear. I use my Gentlemens Emporium clothing for daily wear so this thing is defintely going to get some use! Great job on this one!

This tie tack looks beautiful, it is rich and it is the perfect show off. On the rust tie I ordered too it looked absolutely stunning! :)

Beautiful rust color silk... but they are too big for me, I had to have them adjusted.

The gold pommeau is quite well done, it does look antique. The flasks hidden inside are a source of fun and interest, everyone likes it. It is only the rubber base at the end that looks bulky and cheap, it can be removed though.

To start with I was not sure how to wear it, I wished there was a document that explains it. But I did manage. With a blue pin it is gorgeous. The rust color is fantastic, very deep and elegant.

Really nice vest. Seams are well sewn and finished nice. Canvas has a nice fell, soft but rugged. Should hold up to use/abuse well. Sizes tend to run small, order one size up. Will be ordering a black one soon.

I ordered this hoping to wear it for my historically themed wedding in October. The upside is that it IS genuine leather. However, the leather is very thin and the sole of the boot is hard plastic and VERY slick. Of course, you can get pads to put on the bottom of the boot to help it be more slip resistant, but for the price you pay for them-the sole should be leather or hard rubber or something better than cheap, slick plastic. Also-the toe box was a tad too narrow-though the boot did seem true to size ( I had to special order the size 11's). I really wanted to like this shoe but since my intention was to wear it for my wedding-it seemed too expensive for the quality of the product.

That's how I look wearing these. Light but strong frames don't bother me at all, even though as a replica design they lack the nose-pads found on modern glasses. They are small though, so pay attention to the measurements, if you have a big head, they won't fit you well. Personally though, I love them, they fit me perfectly, and I would definitely buy them again.

This coat is beautiful! I originally bought it because it struck my fancy and I thought it might fulfill some of the criteria I've been looking for in a coat, but I was wrong, it fulfilled all of them! It's long, elegant, perfectly proportioned, light, and not prohibitively expensive. I can wear it in summer or winter, with skirt or pants, and it looks good buttoned or open. I grab attention wherever I go in this amazing coat. Some mention an issue with sizing, that this product runs small, and while that may be true, if you pay attention the the sizing chart and measure yourself honestly, you should find a proper fit. A few details of note, though not enough to detract from my adoration of this product; when I got it, there were a few loose threads that hadn't been trimmed (the work of moments to remove) and the buttons were a tad loose for my taste, (I didn't loose any, but I sewed them on a bit more securely all the same) but these two things are hardly enough to detract a star from my rating. Buy this coat, you won't regret it.

It was not up to the quality that I have come to expect from Historical Emporium. While it looked great and the general construction was fine, two of the buttons fell off before I even got the vest off the hanger. I had to re-sew on all eight buttons.

This is a fun piece I will be adding to a Steam Punk outfit. I love the life in mechanical watches, and this one let's you watch its heartbeat. You can either watch the gears turning in back of the face from the front, or turn it over and watch the gears from behind. Should be a great conversation piece when I wear it. And it seems to work just fine.

I have purchased other "costume-type" clothing from other sellers online and you never know what you're going to get. Often it is cheap, flimsy, thin material, with bad sewing, crooked seams,skimpy cut, etc. Not so with this lovely petticoat. The fabric is thick and excellent-quality. The workmanship is excellent- I am a seamstress myself so I do recognise when things are very well-made. Given the amount of fabric used (very generous) and the quality of it (where do they get their cotton? Because I can't find anything this nice at the usual fabric stores), as well as the craftsmanship of the construction- I could not make this petticoat for what I paid for it here. The styling is excellent and versatile. I can wear this under a Renaissance skirt with a peasant blouse and bodice, or I could layer it under a Victorian gown for the Dicken's Faire. Or....I may just toss on a french sailor tee-shirt and wear it to the beach!

I had some concerns about the sleeve length on the large size shirt. The large size is 16 1/2 35-36. I am 6'4 1/2" tall and I usually wear a 16 1/2 36-37. I called the customer service number and I spoke with Eve. I explained my concern to her. We were both online at the time and she told me that the gentleman modeling the shirt was 6'5" and he was wearing the large size. She told me this size would fit me perfectly and if not I could return it. I received the shirt in a timely manner I might add and the shirt was a perfect fit. Everything was perfect. Thank you very much for the wonderful service and wonderful product.

I bought this coat as a replacement for one that I had rented from a prestigious costume shop because the rental got burned during a performance. My standards are pretty high when it comes to fabric and construction quality and I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of this coat. It will be a great piece for the costume shop. I was also very happy with such a reasonable price. You will not be disappointed with this piece.

So many of the western hats you get today are stiff, hard products that I call "wall hangers". You can't wear them comfortably. The slouch hat is wearable, comfortable and yet does a good job keeping its shape. It is also accurately sized. It appears to be well constructed. I am picky about my western hats but this one makes the mark in every category.

These pants are more than worth it. The quality is excellent..very durable and great for both hard work or just to wear out. Highly recommended.

Thanks Gentlemans Emporium for the speedy supply of my order to Australia. While I enjoy the overall apperance and style and the pants appear well made I have found the fitting to be on the large side compared to other items I have previously purchsed in the USA. The waist is very high cut and do not match the claim of being more like a pair of jeans. To wear the pants for the crutch the waist is nearly up to my ribs. The cut of material around the legs is very generous making them appear rather baggy. Considering the cloth has a lot of stretch I feel the leg could be cut much slimmer. Overall I could have ordered one size down and even then I feel the crutch would have still been low and the legs very generous.

Wore this as soon as I got it for a Carnival themed wedding. Awesome! Wish you had a bigger size, or it was bigger in the back though.

I am very fond of this jacket! It is a very good quality. The only thing I disliked was the silver buttons which made it more of a Wild West era jacket as opposed to a Civil War era jacket. Still gets 5 stars as buttons can be interchanged easily.

Great oversized summer cowboy shoot shirt, loose and cool.

There's always a risk involved when ordering stuff online, and even if the item description isn't totally misleading, it still doesn't give a good idea of what you're actually ordering. Basically, you get a (brown in my case) lab coat made of cotton. However, the material is somewhat thin and drapes the body more like an hospital gown than an actual coat. The picture used to depict the product is, to my eye, somewhat misleading as the material appears to be sturdy like if it was thick cotton. I'm actually comparing the picture and my coat and they don't look the same. I was planning to use this coat for a mad scientist costume but I'll need to add an apron or some kind of accessory if I don't want to look too ridiculous (i.e. like an hospital patient with a brown gown and weird goggles). Consequently, the $75 price tag is pricey for what you get. I must say though that shipping was pretty fast and Historical Emporium customer service was impeccable. In the end, my 2 stars rating is based on this: -1 star for the misleading picture, -1 star for the hefty price (for what you actually get) and -1 star for the cheap material.

The workmanship is quite good, the look is smashing. A bonus is the extra long sleeves with rolled cuffs. I have long arms and was able to simply roll them down to fit.

I ordered a silk puff tie and tie pin online from Gentleman's Emporium. The quality of the silk puff tie was very good, better than I had anticipated for the price. The only thing that would have made it better was if they included picture instructions on how to "tie" the puff tie to look like it does on their website. But overall happy with this item

I bought this dress because I was going to be a guide for a Victorian House tour. It arrived on time, fit great, and was very comfortable.

This quality vest was a great fit! I got the Medium. I am 5'11" around 165lbs and it fit very well with no adjustments. This was used for a steampunk costume - along with a bowtie, white shirt, and goggles. It also has plenty of pocket choices for my pocket watch too!! Matched perfectly! :))) A+
