I ordered this boot specifically for a vintage outfit I was putting together for the Philly Tweed Ride, a large group bike ride around Philly where everyone dresses in tweed and vintage clothing. The boot was perfect for the outfit and really is "of the era". However....it doesn't work for riding a bike. The pointed toes are too long and hit the tires when turning....so couldn't actually wear them for the ride. I did change into them for the after party. I do really like them and will keep them and wear them for non-bike-riding activities in the future. I had to buy a 9 even though I wear an 8-1/2...so just a tiny bit large, but the laces enable tightening. I think an 8 would have been too small. Delivery was quick and the service from Historical Emporium is impeccable!

Overall I love this coat. I was worried about the size, I have a 45-46 chest -36 inch waist - wear L/XL shirts - but followed the guide and ordered the M/L. I feared it would be tight, but it was loose enough that I needed to use the tightest button on the back cinch. My costume received many compliments, and though I didn't pick a specific character the mad scientist vibe I went with totally came across. The only detail I was a bit frustrated with was the button that sits right above the collarbone. Not sure if it is a construction issue, but I couldn't get the coat to lay flat across my chest. It puckered at my neck and hid that button so it wasn't the clean appearance the photo suggests it should have. Otherwise a welcome addition to my costume rotation!

I order a medium and it was labeled medium, but it seemed large. I think you should warn your customers that the sizing is on the large side.

This item is exactly what I wanted and I am very pleased with the quality and fit.

I purchased two detachable collars a Bankers Collar and a High Stand Collar. Both collars fit extremely well and do not slip as well as being comfortable. I will use these collars for some reenactments and they do look authentic.

So I got this vest for my husband. I was a little worried that it might not fit, but before I bought it the site said to measure the bust and belly and take the biggest measurement. It worked. It fits my husband perfectly. He told me that he liked it better than his other vests because the bottom of the vest doesn't hang too low and cause problems with his zipper.

I'm very disappointed that the leather loop that fits over the hammer to hold the pistol in the holster is glued and can't be adjusted to fit over the hammer. Very frustrating. i was glad that this coat came in extra small, because that size always fits me better than the size small jackets from historical emporium. i have found that the sizing chart runs correct. it's a more traditional size chart, which means that one has to go by her measurements as opposed to going by the actual sizes of small, medium, large, etc. garments of the past were meant to fit closer to the body in a more tailoured and flattering way. this isn't the way clothing generally fits presently. some reviewers have written that the jackets and coats from this company run small, but i don't agree for myself. i would say that the size small jackets are approximate to a UK size 8. so then, of course, extra small would be about a UK 6. luckily the lacing in the back makes for still more accurate adjustment to fit the individual. the coat is smashing on the body, and well made.

Solidly sewn from nice, heavy fabric with real working buttons! not your average Halloween store-bought crap! Also, the staff at Historical Emporium was very helpful.

this jacket is very lovely. i must say that i have found that it's accurate for me to go by the measurements given in the sizing chart, rather than the information presented in other reviews. the sizing is spot on. some reviewers have written that many jackets and coats from historical emporium run small, but i haven't found this to be true for myself. i think many people simply run big. sizing in the US has changed so much over time, so that, when one is presented with a more accurate chart, it may seem that the garment runs small. the label on this jacket says "36", which is a bit misleading, since the measurement chart specifies that a small fits up to a 34 bust. the size " small" of this jacket is approximate to a UK 8. i generally take a small, or still better, extra small, when available. this coat didn't come in extra small, but i managed to cinch in the back lacing tightly enough so that it fits. garments of the past were meant to truly fit, as opposed to being roomy or loose. remember, most ladies wore corsets. i also did a bit of alteration to the seams. the shoulders are a bit roomy for me, but not unattractive. i've got this jacket in black jacquard fabric, as well, and i found that the fit of that one is a tiny bit closer all round, as it's not lined. thus far, i have always been pleased with anything i've ordered from this company.

I recently purchased a single action revolver and wanted a holster that was just as pretty. I knew I wanted a western style gun belt like the Duke. I searched Google for "Western gun belt" and several pictures came up from this site. When I saw this beauty, I knew I wanted it. I thought about it for several weeks due to the price, but I knew in the back of my mind that I was going to buy it eventually. I finally made the purchase and am glad I did. The belt is beautiful and very sturdy. The .22 cal belt comes with 36 bullet loops. I usually wear a size 38-40 jeans depending on the brand. Of course, that is my vanity size (Wrangler and American Eagle want me to feel good about myself). I went ahead and ordered a 46 and it fits perfectly. Of course, you can adjust either way within a few inches. I'm about 6'4" so I knew I should add at least 4-6 inches. I did also measure with a fabric tape measure to be safe. I like the angle at which the belt sits and it should continue to fit me if I gain or lose weight. I highly recommend this belt for anybody with a single action revolver who wants to carry said revolver in style.

Ordered the (.38/.357 cal) Western Gun Belt and Holster - RH Draw - Chocolate Brown Tooled Leather, but specified a size 2 inches too large and returned it for exchange. The product quality and price were excellent.

I've been looking around different stores in the area for a vest and have found nothing to my liking. I searched the internet and found Historical Emporium. Ordered this canvas work vest and I love it, reasonably priced and the pockets are deep, fits great. They hold my sun glasses and my cell phone easily. I will be buying more in the future. This bagbelt is exactly what I needed to finish my outfit! The bags are roomy without being bulky and it fits perfectly!!

These goggles are comfortable and fit my eyeholes nicely. The rear strap and size adjusters are seriously flawed, cheap plastic clips do not hold elastic tight and are unusable without some repair. If you are slightly crafty you can figure out a solution, mine work fine with two safety pins holding elastic together. The metal is thin and light in a good way, although I am careful not to bend the rings when changing lenses. My custom lenses fit perfectly in these goggles, magnets stick to 'em!

Just what I needed, and just in time. The tweed is not the finest weave, with some minor imperfections, but sturdy craftsmanship and quality materials still make it a five star product.

Was very small and fit like a 1xl rather than the other vest I purchased that was a single brested 4xl and fit perfectly.

This was just aces. Solid construction and thick, but not heavy material. And it looks damn cool. The sleeves are a bit difficult to work with, but a pair of gloves fix that quick. I picked up some chemical gloves off military surplus and they fit perfectly. It's great for keeping warm out and about on Halloween night. Though, I'd suggest dressing light underneath, if you're going to be some place that's already warm/crowded.

I love these goggles. They have a nice authentic feel to them and I've made them a part of multiple costume ideas so far. A quibble with the band though, it seems to be geared toward smaller heads (which I do not have) and the adjustment clips on the side don't hold the strap very tightly, so I did have it fly off at one point. Not a huge deal, as I stuck a pin in to keep everything together and they remained comfortable, but I found it worth mentioning.

This bow tie fastens with a hook, a modern design. I would have preferred the tie to carry over the attention to period detail the rest of my outfit displayed. That said, it's a very nice tie.

I purchased this item as part of my Halloween costume this year and loved it. Very pretty, but smaller then I expected, so it was hard to actually read the time on the clock - it does keep good time, though!

I bought this dress for a part of my Halloween costume this year and LOVED it! Very pretty, very well-constructed and I felt well worth the money I spent. I actually found the same dress in another store for a much higher price after I had already purchased it. I received so many compliments. It was, however, sized I thought about one to two sizes small, but the corset works well so it was all A-OK. The shipping speed was also lightning fast! Great customer service!

I wish I had bought for myself after seeing it. That hat looked amazing and the detail was very accurate. Including a hat pin and a small red feather. I wish you could find products like these local.

I mean, who doesn't want some goggles? These are great. They ruin your peripheral vision, but that's to be expected. The lenses are lightly darkened, but not in any way that helps you deal with the sun; these don't stand in for sunglasses. They are a comforting aluminum that clinks metallically and and has some heft, while still being lightweight. The lenses are just a bit recessed past the edge of the frame (I'm not sure how they might unscrew; everything looks riveted together). Unless there's light shining in on your eyes, the lenses keep your eyes pretty shaded and hidden. I found the strap to be a little small, and the straps have a tendency to slip out of their...strap holder thing. Maybe I just have a big head. But it was easy to set them so that they were comfortable on my face and forehead. I want to wear them all the time.

I have never seen anything like this before and could not be happier with this article of clothing. The topmost button on the collar came off, and the rest of the buttons look as if they will at some point or another. Depending on how frequently one unbuttons the bib and mid chest. With that being said it was an easy fix to sew the button back on and I even reinforced it so I know it will not happen again.

These are the real deal, perfect fit and very comfortable. The length of course is nothing to worry about especially for the taller gentleman. Nothing but a test of the tailor's skill to fix if needed to be hemmed. I have difficulty getting my wallet in and out of the back pocket on occasion, and I am sure it will be easier when they are more broke-in.

I purchased a .38/.357 Chocolate Brown Tooled Leather gun belt. The measurements were right on. The product looks and fits great. Delivery time was just as they said it would be. Discovered when I had to punch out two more holes to get the bracelet around my arm wrist, that this product is not made of leather. Guess it's vinyl plastic in both the braun and black parts prepaired with leather smell. Good looking plastic however but not worth the prize.

I'll tell you what my fear was--that things would be of "Halloween costume" variety with their lack of value. Thankfully, that is NOT the case! Everything I have purchased has been a delight and well worth the price. Comfortable, well made and so beautiful!!! I plan to come out of the wardrobe (coming out of the closet as a Victorian) and wear Victorian clothing all of the time. Items like this blouse will allow me to do so! Nice material, and the double ruffle at the bottom is really wonderful! The first time I wore it as an underskirt for a black scalloped bustle skirt. It holds a skirt out nicely, yet I think it could be worn as a skirt itself. Starched and ironed, with all that lovely lace, it is a thing of beauty.

It is extraordinarily well made! It is long, but not too long. It is nice and thick, but not too thick. The cotton breathes beautifully! The double stays and steel stays give it such strength; however, it is not uncomfortable in the least!

Ordered one and liked it so much ordered two more. One to keep nice for special occasions another to rotate in the every day wardrobe and the third to not worry about soiling or staining when working around my 90 year old house. The way it is made allows maximum mobility and comfort. Going to need one of those slick vests to go with them though.

I used this as a base for dressing like Booker DeWitt this Halloween. It was perfect. I had some adjustments such as changing up the buttons and positions of the buttons; flat ironing the lapels wider; adding black cloth to the lapels and adding the embroidery with white screen print ink. Shipping makes the prove high, but it's not overpriced for tweed.

Felt The holster could have a bit more snug and the holster was about a 1/2" shorter then preferred, considering it was advertise for a Super Blackhawk. The leather and tooling were excellent and stitched well. I had purchased the same holster once before and it was absolutely perfect, the reason I planned on purchasing for the second time.

Overall a nice vest. Pockets are so shallow that they are unusable. Other than that, good product.

I ordered a size large. When I received them they where indeed labeled as larges. However, they are much too small for my mens size 10 shoes. they look good though and I will probably give them to a friend.

The quality is about what I expected for the price... decent quality vinyl uppers and a good sole. I was a bit nervous about buying footwear with sizes S-M-L-XL, and the guide suggesting a M for my Wide 10 1/2 feet when I haven't worn anything M in 40 years! I was pleasantly surprised with the fit. As other reviewers have stated, they are actually a bit large, but not uncomfortably so and a pair of thick socks took care of it. The full-length side zipper is anachronistic, but sure makes it easier to get them on over tucked-in pants. I wore them all day and night on Halloween with no discomfort.

This jacket is a part of an outfit for my Husband for a vow renewal ceremony. the jacket is a full cut in the chest area. My husband has always wore off the rack the same size for years and has never gained or changed in the 35 years I've known him but this is not a good fit. But after watching reruns of Downton Abbey we saw all the suits where worn that way.

This is a very nice garment. High quality. I am a large fellow, 6'2" and almost 300lbs. I usually wear 3X shirts. I ordered the 4X/5X size in this, just to be sure it would fit, and it was very roomy and comfortable on me.

These googles look great, but for long wear they have a couple issues. There is no gasket or padding on the face side. This can cause pressure on nose points. Or in my case, against my forehead as I wore them up on my head most of the time. The vent holes were also small and they steamed up a lot on me. I guess I'm very humid. I don't mean to hate on these googles. They are the bargain version, and as I said, look great. I think if I had to do it again though, I'd buy something with padding.

This hat is very authentic! The materials are all high quality and depict the real Edwardian era. Received many compliments!!! The flowing ribbon in the back and on the side were like icing on the cake.

Decent leather holster for cross draw. Will fit a variety of revolvers up to about 6 inch barrel. Security is provided by a hammer thong, however the one I rec'd was not useable -- the thong could not be adjusted and was fairly thin leather. The construction of the holster was such that the thong would probably be extremely difficult to replace if it should break. This is a very generic holster and may or may not work with your particular revolver. It would work best for longer barreled pistols. The Emporium immediately offered to replace it with a holster they had checked for proper function or a full refund with paid return. I can't recommend the holster, but continue to be happy with their fine customer service.

I am pleased. We bought this shirt and the walnut duster. The two of them go together very well. Both are comfortable enough to wear all day. The stitching is well done. No flaws, no shortcuts. The sizing is a bit big but I much prefer that to too small. This shirt feels authentic. It's also well enough made and comfortable enough to wear anywhere. We are pleased with the purchase.

The pin was exactly what I expected. It was definitely well made and looked authentically aged. I really liked the attention to detail. It was specifically for a Halloween costume but I could see myself finding excuses to wear it as an accessory.

My son wanted a tall derby hat like this one for a Halloween costume he was putting together. I went to local Halloween and novelty shops and found derby-style hats made of plastic for $30! These were cheap quality hats made just for costumes and would have been more reasonably priced at about $5. So I got online to see what I could find, and I found Historical Emporium. This hat was not that much more expensive than the cheap costume hats available locally, so I decided to try it. The hat was shipped in sturdy packaging, sent priority mail, and arrived several days sooner than the predicted date given when I ordered it. My son loves this hat! It is great quality, looks wonderful, and is something he'll have forever and be able to use again and again. This is a great quality product at a reasonable price. This hat seemed light at first, but after working with it for a while the weight feels great. For the money I do not believe you can buy a better quality hat made anywhere, let alone one made in the USA.

Well made shirt. Comfortable and looks good. Fits the period. Teamed with the walnut canvas duster and a derby, everything comes together and it's all comfortable. It needs boots and something other than jeans for the pants but I had those already. It's good to have a costume that looks right and is comfortable enough to wear all day.

We are quite satisfied. The material and stitching are adequate and the sizing is good. It hangs on me very well. I hand washed it in the utility sink and hung it to drip dry. Didn't want to run it through the machines before I even wore it once. Even though I now think it's tough enough to handle a wash and tumble dry, I'll still be hand washing it just to be safe. I paired it with the Floyd Side-Button Shirt and a derby and am pleased with the look. It's good when the clothes look and feel properly made and fit well enough to be comfortable all day. I absolutely love this hat. I was worried it might be too small because many hats are for me. It sits forward perfectly and looks great. It stays on without any needed bobby pins and is very light. I wore it for a turn of the century party however will wear it again at a day at the races as it truly is a stunning hat. The packing was very protective so it arrived in great shape.
