The size is true and material quality is great.

This is a top quality coat and quite a value. I am 6' 1", around 230 lbs and the Medium/Large is just right for me (just like the sizing chart indicated). This is clearly a genuine coat for outdoor wear. Fine craftsmanship and quality material. A little heavier than I anticipated, but perfect weight for fall and winter wear. I would recommend to anyone.

excellent pants. very sturdy heavy gauge fabric. would be 5 stars but back buckle broke, needs to be double stitched.

I wear safari hats when I work outside in the summer. I remain cool, and people tell me I look cool too. This is a great replacement for my old sunfari hat.

Love all 3 of my vests

I love my new parasol. It matches the hat I recently bought through historical emporium. It also matches the Victorian dress I bought last year. Finally my outfit is complete! I’m happy with the quality and look of my outfit.

Overall I am very happy with my purchases. While I am happy with my smoking jacket and wear it regularly, I think it is not quite up to the very high standard I have seen in my other purchases. It will not have an effect though on my planned future purchases.

As a new customer I held off reviewing for a more complete experience. After a couple months, I could not be happier! Since I enjoy vests I plan to buy as many as I can.

As always, these particular vests go with everything. Comfortable, they go with any costume be it Western, Victorian, Steampunk or Modern formalwear, it is the "goto" vest. I am patiently waiting for black in my size to become available once again and I'll have three colors. If you wear vests, you must consider these.

This wool is a tropical weight wool. Has a smooth hand and nice drape. Lightweight so it's a good 3 season coat. If you're always hot it's a good 4 season coat.

This hat is magnificent! Truly, the perfect accessory for my 1880s outfit. Very well made and sturdy too!

This is one of those items that brings out the compulsive in me and makes me want to order two! Great fit (I wear a lrg), great looking and comfortable. I usually doubt straw hats at this price but this hat is well constructed and I am choosing it often to wear outside during the summer days. I will order another one as I fear I might wear this one out. Just love this hat.

I got the Light Gray Cotton Frock Coat at a great price. It is well made and I love it. Delivery was prompt with no problems. I will soon be purchasing the matching pants and vest. Thanks, I believe I have found a new "go to" for period clothing which I love.

These boots are great! I've been looking for a simple, tall pair of black boots for years, and happened across these. I'm very glad I did. Comfortable and dashing at the same time. I look forward to wearing them on fall/winter trips.

I bought these trousers as a sample first purchase before I dove in all the way on my Tombbstone/Doc Holliday/Val Kilmer outfit for my annual Halloween party. The quality and fit are excellent. I then ordered the rest of the outfit (Historical Emporium has the product lineup to essentially recreate one of the Doc outfits). Also excellent. I recommend their products. Very pleased. Customer support is also very friendly.

This is a quality product, but you need more fidelity in your sizing. I ordered the "3X/4X" size, because I was concerned that something labeled "XL/2X" would be too small. I mean an XL and a 2X are quite different is size. The 3X/4X arrived, and it was gigantic. I mean, the thing was a tent. So I returned it and ordered the XL/2X... Too small. That's just silly, frankly.

Looks great. The Lg fits a tiny bit loose, but then the Med fit a tiny bit snug so I'm in between sizes I guess. I'm going to wear this vest (the Lg) a lot.

This convertible riding skirt is amazing! It looks great! The fabric is a nice weight and hangs well. The skirt is well-made with good, even stitching and the buttons are well attached. I purchased this riding skirt for an event and am confident that it will look historically accurate. Also the sizing runs true to size. I used the measurements on the size chart and it fits perfectly! If you are thinking about purchasing this riding skirt, do it! you won't be disappointed.

This is a superb jacket, fit for any gentleman. I've been shopping at the Historical Emporium for several years now, and have never been disappointed. The products are always well made. However, the other thing to note about this particular jacket, is that it might appear a shade or so brighter online than IRL. Again, the jacket is absolute quality, but it just might not be as vibrant than you expect. Other than that, I am quite pleased with my purchase and would shop again!

I purchased this as part of an outfit for a specific Western event, however, through the Winter it has been a constant companion, and gets regular use. The material is a good, heavy weight, all sewing is done well, with no loose threads or other issues. Buttons have held up excellently. I suspect this will get a lifetime of use.

Title says it, the pants are AWESOME. Well made, durable, and beautiful. But be warned size up! If you have order historical emporium pants in the past and they fit got up an additional size for these.

I like it! Am actually using it to ride my horse, where it is not quite as user-friendly as I imagined it would be: the pant legs keep sliding up and have to be re-adjusted often. It does run a bit large in the waist as well. I'm 28 and the size 4 is not snug. The color is not pictured accurately either; the product is quite a lot nicer tan than on the pictures, where it looks more gray. The length is great on the ground, but again, on horseback you lose quite a bit of the length leaving most of your boot visible. But in spite of the negative sound of this review, I'm happy with this skirt. I would buy the black one as well if it weren't so expensive. But I guess I'll have to try to copy the pattern and make a black one. It is a great product overall, especially if you don't mind sewing the buttons on a bit better! :-)

Pants are a most if like pinstripes as I do and also seem really well made. Do come long but nothing a few stitches won't fix.
