I love this shirt, it is all I had hoped for. The fit is right and very comfortable.

It's beautiful and of great quality. Love the material. I'm looking forward to wearing it. I found it true to size but very long, I'm 5'3" , I have to wear it high up on my ribs and it still goes way past my feet. 4" heels or higher will need to be worn. I found it to hug my curves which is something I was hoping for. The lace detail on the back is gorgeous.

Love love LOOOOVE this vest. The stout herringbone twill is the same material as an old set of coveralls I had, and I expect it will wear as well and age as gracefully. This is a good, practical vest that will prove useful for day-to-day wear, as well as events and cosplay. By ordering slightly up on the size, I was able to button it comfortably over my bib overalls, and I expect this will enter rotation as one of my real-world working waistcoats. Because I'm perhaps a bit persnickety, I'm rating this just short of 5 stars, for a couple of reasons, as noted below: It's not a fault, per se, but I would add that this vest, and others, would be much improved by the addition of an inside pocket, which works better than the outside ones for discreetly concealing one's electro-aether-phone. Major props for having FOUR functional pockets, though! In terms of sizing, I think it might be prudent to err on the high side if you're near the cusp of the size range; based on an actual measurement of 46 1/2", I ordered the XL, which the chart shows as accommodating up to a 50" chest. I found that this was a bit snug, even when worn over just a shirt, but the 2X fit very nicely. As I mentioned, I was able to button it up comfortably over my bib overalls (letting out the back belt to do so), and also achieved a nice, trim fit over a shirt by taking the belt up a bit. (In discussing this with the seamstress friend who measured me, she said, "Order up a size and USE THE HALF BELT. That's what it's for." I'd say this is good advice.) Despite these quibbles, I would definitely say that this vest is a *very* good value for the price. Fifty bucks for a good working vest, with functional pockets, is a great deal. And I like the material so well, I'm going to order the matching britches...

There is a lot to like about these excellent braces; they are stoutly constructed, and wide enough to offer good support. I especially like the stout leather tabs, which mark these as practical working suspenders, rather than an item for fops, dandies, and fat-cat captains of industry; these are meant for holding up the trousers of people who do the grunt work of the agrarian and industrial modern era! My one gripe, and the only thing that kept me from awarding them a fifth star, is that there is rather too much elastic in the back brace for my comfort; especially with high-waisted olde-tymey britches, the yoke hits just below my collar, rather than between my shoulders, resulting in some discomfort, and an unsightly puckering of the shoulder braces near the yoke. This is, however, easily corrected by shortening the elastic section by about 1-1/2"-2", and will not keep me from buying more of this style. But a bit shorter length of elastic from the get-go might be nice. But those dang attachment tabs, though! They're CHONKY, and I like 'em. Major selling point of this style, as far as I'm concerned.

Awesome quality product!! I ordered a black John Bull top hat, and it is beautiful! The sizing was spot on, it arrived much more quickly than I imagined, and in perfect condition. I'm not sure what I expected, but I was more than impressed with both the materials and workmanship, and will gladly recommend Historical Emporium to my friends and colleagues!

I was excited to find this straw bowler online and dumbfounded that you’re located in the Bay Area south of me!! Initially I was just looking for the standard wool bowler but was disappointed that my next opportunity to wear wool anything was next Fall. So I started looking for something out of straw — I figured there must be a seller out there. Well lo and behold! This hat is very unique and good looking. Now my only issue is that I might stand out too much! ;))

The fall front trousers fit me very well. The size was what I needed, excellent quality.

I bought a pair of these as props for a community theater production of Henrik Ibsen's play, Hedda Gabler, and overall I am pleased. Hedda's matched set of pistols are crucial to the plot, and have a symbolic meaning that requires them to be, in a word, sexy! These are very large, heavy pistols whose weight makes handling them seem natural, and the silver finish makes them instantly recognizable as weapons on stage. I was also pleasantly surprised to find that they have functional loading rams beneath the barrel. But though my two pistols are visually similar, it is obvious that they came from different production runs. One is well constructed, and the action is as precise as any genuine firearm. The other is sloppy, and the barrel moves around disconcertingly as it is handled. These are clearly best suited as display pieces, rather than action props, and there is even a note included in the packaging that warns about not firing them too much!
