Love this hat
This hat is fabulous! It is everything I hoped it would be. I have always thought I would like a fancy Kentucky Derby hat, and now I have gotten interested in Steampunk and I have found my perfect hat! It is well made and beautifully decorated.

Good for what I needed
I needed a hat to wear in all weathers in the evenings and this did fine. It is a bit too plastic looking for daytime wear, but it did fine on a rainy evening.

Beautiful Victorian Hat!!!
I was looking for a Victorian hat to wear for an upcoming Victorian murder mystery weekend that I am scheduled to attend. The invitation invited us to dress in Victorian garb, so I figured I would start by purchasing a Victorian hat, and then possibly move on to a blouse and skirt. I was checking Amazon and at the bottom of the page was a link to the Historical Emporium site. When I found this hat, I thought it looked gorgeous and the reviews were excellent, so I immediately placed an order for it. It arrived very expediently and I was thrilled at how stunning this hat is and I was also very happy with the excellent quality of the hat. I've been taking this hat out of the box and trying it on in the mirror at least once a day and I can't wait to wear it next month. I have since ordered another hat from this site-- a blue hat with white plumes-- and it should be coming today. After all, it's a murder mystery WEEKEND, so I couldn't possibly wear the same hat two days in a row now, could I??? I have also ordered a Victorian skirt from this site and I am confident it will be of the same high quality as this hat.

Luxurious Hat
Delicate muted cognac brown feathers and a luxurious mauve rose transports one to the days of cable cars and horse drawn carriages. Should we have butter cakes with our lemonade as we sit and chat with friends? What a joy it is to find such a beautiful hat that accents any frock coat so well!

Hat a Smashing Success at Historic Home Tour
This hat was authentic in detail and very well made. It compared favorably with a display of actual Victorian era hats and clothing which was part of our event. I have recommended you to our Museum of History costumer as a potential supplier for first-person presenters.

A hat for all ladies!
This hat is really nice. Hat base is black straw, so the hat is light and comfortable. The exact measurements are: Round Brim: 15" wide (3" from crown to edge). Crown: 7" wide x 3.5" high. There is a fine cognac velvet on the crown, covered with a cocoa crochet "lace". The feathers on the front-to-sides are wispy ostrich (in tow different lengths) in cognac and cocoa (a really good match to the fabrics!). There is a large bronze silk rose in front of the crown, just different enough in colour to provide a lovely accent. Soft, black lace covers the top of the brim. The net pouf on back of the brim is about 6" high. The fall of netting down back is 29" from the brim edge. I am 5'2" and the hat does look large on my head, but then, very few women wear hats like this these days. So, it takes some getting used to the look! However, based on the compliments I have received as an Edwardian-era docent at our local museum, it is a winner! Oh, you might want a hat pin while wearing this or, do as I have donw, and hand-sew a piece of elastic to hold the hat in place behind-&-under your hair. I used a tinted elastic and it blends-in with my hair invisibly!
