Brass Goggles

Item: 001805

Availability: Sold Out

Indispensible to the traveler, and absurdly stylish to boot, these goggles will stand up to even the boldest adventures.

Rims are black-painted brass, with a velvet felt-lined interior for comfort. Lenses are greenish-yellow tinted to shield from sun, wind and glare. Cotton tie straps are non-elasticized. Comes complete with a storage tin for protection in the off season.

The industrious individual can strip the black paint to reveal a bright brass finish, as shown in the alternate view. We used a dremel tool with a brass brush, and it made quick work of the black paint.

Also available: aluminum goggles.

Please note: these goggles are genuine military surplus, so the storage tins are aged and a bit dented. The goggles may have minor blemishes, but are fully functional with unmarred lenses. Not intended for use as safety goggles.

At $7 these goggles would have been a good deal. At $12 it would have been fair. But for what I paid I think they are cheap junk. I'm not returning them because I'm not going to wear them but only going to sew them onto a driving hat.

Good and Lite Weight
Some of the other goggles are rather large and bulky for my needs. The black painted brass frames fit very well and after removing the paint was the very look and weight I wanted. I did remove and replaced the nose strap and strap ties with black leather with a slip adjuster. Resewed the cotton linen edge liner so they were more secure. I use them with my straw boater hat and look outstanding.

good goggles
Good goggles. My only complaint is that the strap broke on them after the first use. But it is easily repairable.

My 2nd pair
These are some cool antique googles to tie on your top hat (it's a fabric tie, not a buckle). Under the black paint is brass, you can use fine steel wool to get some or all of the brass to shine through. The eyepices are real glass, don't let your cat push them off the kitchen counter or you'll have to get another pair. The come tucked in a neat little old tin.

Great for Eye protection In the Sun; Daily use remind me of the 80's sun glasses I use to wear. With the summer time weather here perfect!!! Just need a longer strap / or clip for easy on & off. Will buy other for back-up [:)=)}>~

I've Always got the Best Quality stuff from you guys. These googles look like something from a Cheap Halloween Store. The case they came in was the best part.

Not quite up to par
I picked these up for a costume. The pictures advertise these goggles with a cloth strap that ties in the back, instead they came with an elastic strap. It wasn't too big of a problem because they were mostly going to be resting on my hat. Unfortunately, the elastic strap wasn't quite long enough to fit my hat. I then tried to put them on my head and before I even got them on, the nose strap tore in half. I've since replaced all the straps with leather, and even though they're not the most comfortable, they look nice.

As described and warned. But, the dents, rust and rubbed off paint are just what the doctor ordered for a steampunk costume. Bought for my wife, and boy am I jealous

These ex-surplus goggles are of course very authentic. They are even supplied with a small storage tin for safe keeping!

These goggles were just what I have been looking for. Part of my WW2 Dispatch riders outfit. Ordering was a synch, delivery was faultless and before expected. Well done, would definitely buy again from you, in fact I have my eye on a pair of the "brogan" boots. Roll on Christmas.. Adie

Great goggles, Batman!
I love these goggles. Brass eyecups joined together with sewn ribbon, and with a pair of long ribbons to tie them on with. They fit nicely on my bowler and the ribbon fits in neatly in with the hatband - looks like they were meant for it. They have a comfortable fit on my face as well. A quality surplus product that I am very pleased with. And the little hinged tin they came in is very cute, too. I shall have to find a use for it with my Steampunk outfit.

Brass Goggles (001805)
A little bit of history to these goggles, which makes them even more interesting when decking them out for Steampunk. They are much more interesting than something made recently. Love them a lot!

steampunk goggles
I'm being drawn into this Steampunk like a nova into a black hole. What is Steampunk without the goggles. The goggles were just what they said it would be, painted brass with clothe fittings and a carrying case. I removed the paint, beautiful shiny brass! I replaced the eye cup pads with leather and the tie strap and nose piece with elastic band. I knocked out most of the dents in the case and polished it and added clothe to the inside. This took about two hours. Great price , quality, looks, comfortable fit and the small easy storage is great. I'm thinking of adding a simple brass filigree decoration, maybe leather nose piece. I'm having fun with these and very happy with H.E. I've also bought other items from H.E. They've been honest, prompt, and have very goo quality products. No complaints, only good feelings.
