I wanted a hat that said, "late 19th century." My story is that I rode with Quantrell during the Civil War. After the war ended I was labled a bushwacker and a murderer. For the last 15 years, I have lived by my gun and my whits alone. I may sleep under the stars at night, but I don't have to look like it. Though my boots and rawhide vest be worn, when I don my Historical Emporium Cahill hat, I feel I'm finally and properly saluting the past.

The hat looks great and is of good quality. I will try to put something underneath for it to fit better and not wobble on my head. The other hat I ordered was not in inventory, so had to substitute this one.

Admittedly, I look good in hats (not sure why) and this is a lovely addition to my wardrobe: historical, history-bounding, or everyday... Will be very fun to trim as well.

I bought this hat for everyday use. My head is often in the clouds and wanted an item to ground my thoughts and creativity while I paint, draw, or write in my free time. I find myself fantasizing about the late 1800's - 1900's often and this hat is just perfect.

I like to wear hats, and I'm collecting them. I like the hat, but the color is a bit darker than I imagined, and the size is a bit large, even with the internal sizing cord. Which is odd, because i have large and xl for other hats. Except this one.

I got this hat to chaperone a junior high school dance. Great service and timely delivery. Great hat, except much larger than the L size, which reduces my rating by one star. There is an elastic cord to help size the hat, but it isn't very useful because it is higher up on the head, not near the crown. Will be fine for one event.

The hat is exactly what I was looking for. Unique, seems well made, reminds me of Tom Petty. A small paper telling how to adjust the size with the string inside would have been appreciated.

The Cahill hat is the right hat for me. Though a few years off from being period correct for what I'm doing. But, with me being 6'7 a Top hat on me would look worse than a Stove Pipe Hat on the 6'4 Lincoln!

The hat is just as described. Maybe runs a wee bit small (however it could be my measuring - first time that buyer.)
Ultimately it's a great hat.
My caveat is twofold. First it doesn't list on the tag in the hat what it's made of, and two, it's made in China.
I might have overlooked these two details when I purchased, but those are my thoughts.
It really is a nice hat though.
