A Historical Emporium Exclusive!

Stealthy style for the Victorian gentleman, our Gray Wool Inverness Cape is what to wear when strolling cobblestone streets by the light of the gas lamps - surefire, streetwise credibility. Ideal for your favorite Sherlock or Jack the Ripper impression, but will also shine as a stylish dress cloak.

Falling below the knees, this full-length, satin-lined cloak features a generous cut and over-cape construction with fabric-covered buttons from the neck to waist. Inner cloak has generously sized arm holes to allow freedom of movement and access to two slant pockets.

Exterior is a weighty 100 percent wool melton, with black satin lining. Cowl reaches 27" down the back, while the bottom coat hem falls approximately 52", falling below the knees on the average height man. Imported. Dry clean only. One size fits most men, up to 56" chest, neck measures 20".

Perfect in every way
I wore it together with other Emporium Clothers for the Charles Dickens Festival in Deventer, Holland. It fits perfectly, is very good material and keeps wonderfully warm. I only can recommend it

Husband is delighted
We live in Michigan and winters can get pretty bitter. My husband had been looking for an Inverness cape for a couple of years, but they’re pricey or costume-y. I stumbled on this one while trying to find the name of the style coat and was surprised to see it was made of wool…and had good reviews. This one runs about the same price as a good quality topcoat, so it wasn’t unreasonable. When he opened it, he was delighted for three reasons: 1) It fit! he’s 6’4” and broad-chested, so normal clothes are screaming for mercy) 2) It was a heavy-weight wool. This weighs more than the Swiss-issued military dress coat he has. Fits him better, too. 3) It is warm. We are at the beginning of our winter and it was too warm for him at 32°.

Inverness Cape Review
Honestly this is such a nice coat! It arrived in a timely fashion and looks good on stage! It’s a little heavy but that’s because I’m weak!

A complete success
My husband loves wearing this cape. When he is really cold there is room to wear it over his casual winter coat and still look good. A complete success.

Good quality for the price
Good quality. Warm and substantial but not overly "heavy weight". Fully lined. Expeditious delivery. Reasonably priced. No complaints.

superb styling
I wear formal Scottish attire frequently, and the Inverness is the traditional outerwear. Yours fits wonderfully, and is suitable in any weather. I do not hesitate to recommend it as an excellent value.

Best. Overcoat. Ever.
Possibly the favorite item I've ordered from Historical Emporium so far, this is a strong, sturdy, and warm overcoat with great style. Definitely draws attention, but doesn't look like a cheap costume coat at all. Warm, practical, and effective... kept me comfortable and dry on a recent boat tour of Prince William Sound, Alaska.
