This is a really nice vest; it feels great, wears great, and isn't too heavy. The color is several shades darker than the pictures, however; if worn without something truly black to contrast, it just looks black. Which may be what you're going for!

Gramercy Vesty

This vest pairs nicely with the Fairbanks Striped Trousers I purchased on the same order. As a 6' 2" 240lb man with both a "pot belly" and a colostomy bag (cancer survivor) to hide, the straight edged bottom of this vest is EXACTLY what I needed. The more typical notched bottoms on most vests often exposes excess shirt material blousing out.
Exactly what the vest is intended to conceal. The cut of the vest is also a bit sliming without acting like a male girdle like so many "fitted" vests. I am very pleased with the quality. One of the few items I've purchased online that doesn't seem like it needs the buttons to be re-attached with "good" thread.

I looked around for months trying to find a vest of this style that fit. I'm a larger guy so that can be a very tall order when sizes on amazon say 2XL but actually fit more like a medium. I even tried a 5XL and believe me, nothing will start to eat at you like going way above the size you normally wear and it still won't fit!!!

Thankfully I found the Historical Emporium whose customer support worked with me to ensure that the size I ordered fit as expected. I couldn't have been more thrilled when it arrived and fit perfectly, not to mention it feels very authentic and of a high quality. You can't go wrong with this company (just make sure to take measurements before ordering).

Oh my gosh, words fail in describing the great look and feel of this vest. The cut is perfect, the velvet very elegant and overall lightweight for hot summer activities.

Fits perfectly, elegant, everything as advertised. I do really like it. My only issue is that there were a couple others I liked more, and really anted to have instead, but they didn't come in a larger size. With that said, this one is great. Thanks

I purchased this item for a cosplay. It no longer comes with the gold plain buttons apparently, but silver patterned buttons instead. I'll have to replace the buttons to make it correct for my outfit. Otherwise it is a very nice vest and fits perfectly.

What a beautiful vest. The color, the design... everything is near perfect. It is much lighter weight than I expected. In fact, it feels a little bit like a theatrical piece than a quality garment. BUT, is is comfortable and doesn't make you sweat. That is where I get back to the price. A bit expensive for the materials used, but somehow worth it. I wore it with a traditional Bavarian outfit and got a ton of compliments. The design makes it quite versatile

Beauty vest, the only qualm I have is that it is not longer beyond the waistline, maybe 2 inches longer.

Love this Double Breasted Waistcoat! It feels good to the touch, and looks great in a Festive way. I have not yet tried this vest with other outfits, but I am certain it will be splendid!

I wore this for my 1920's themed 45th Birthday party and it was an absolute hit! I paired it with arm garters and a boater hat and it did not disappoint. Very good quality and fits true to size. Customer service was great and rushed it because I waited until the last minute.

I bought this for my husband as part of a costume, but when it came I feel in love with it. It can be used in normal dressy situations as well as for the costume he needed it for. The XXL fit great - I was a bit worried since it would be worn under a few things and he didn't want it real tight, but it fit just like a XXL should fit even when over a shirt. The picture doesn't even begin to show how nice this looks in person.

I had the opportunity to wear this vest to a titanic era tea. It is a good looking piece, comfortable , and not quite bright as it looks in some of the product photos. I am quite pleased with it.

I purchased this vest for my husband as a Christmas gift. When I took it out of the packaging, my first impulse was to call and ask why they had sent me a black vest when I ordered a green one. They didn't. The green velvet this vest is made from is so dark that unless you are looking at it in natural light (I had to take it to the sunlit window before I saw that it was, in fact, green) it looks black. If that's OK with you, then you'll love it. If you want something that clearly reads "green", you'll be happier with a different choice.

Purchased this attend a dinner. It is really great, on time delivery, was very pleased with the style, cut and fit. Will purchase again if need be.

The item was VERY cheaply made. I was really disappointed. It looked like it cost $10.
