A Historical Emporium Exclusive!
Short trousers, similar to our Brown Herringbone Tweed Knickers, were all the rage in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The perfect way for a town and country chap to suit up comfortably for sporting endeavors such as golf, shooting and croquet. On the complete flip side of the social stratum, you might find a young newsboy or bike messenger tending to business in a pair pulled down over knee socks.
It doesn't matter if you call them knickers, knickerbockers, or knee-breeches, these shortened trousers always billowed a bit around the knee. This pleated and button-fly pair is kept secure with a 1½" band of elastic at each cuff. Two pockets at the front sides and 2 more button-back pockets on the rear offer plenty of room for a gentleman's carry-abouts. Also, both belt loops and interior suspender buttons are provided.
Shown here with our calf-length socks. Made from 25% wool, 40% acrylic, and 35% polyester. Satin lined to the knee for comfort. Imported. Dry clean only. Available in men's sizes 30-52.
Pair with our Norfolk Jacket for a period hunting look.
Part of our Brown Tweed Collection.
Don't forget suspenders! (sold separately).
