This pattern design is missing either elastic in the waist or buttons. It’s impossible to get the waist over the chest when slipping it on overhead. I would have to size up several sizes to make that happen and then the waist would be a sack on my. Poor planning with this design.

Great design, comfortable and fits the Gothic vibe I wanted. Now, the bow on front is one you have to tie yourself, so heads up. It's not a problem and looks great, just surprised me.
I am broader in the shoulders, so the sleeves are a little tight (at that space where the sleeve is lined with white. It's not elastic, so it's tight when I raise my arms.)Heads up if you run a bit broad.
All in all, a very fun piece! I have got so many compliments on it.

Bought this for Teacher Spirit Week Fun in the Sun. Outfit needed to be modest and wearable to teach in. Brought lots of curiosity from high schoolers and prompted many conversations ranging from women's rights to fashion sustainability. Would not have bought if not a natural fabric. I embellished it with another white stripe at the bottom and one at the waist to mimic extant garments. I did shorten it by 3 inches because I'm under 5 ft tall. Added a white mob cap with black trim and plain white bloomers already in my closet. Felt great, looked great, and even though the dress is made of lightweight cotton, it hung well. Would buy again without hesitation!

Very cute, I became parted from my husband at one point who was wearing the men's 1900's swimsuit and had complete strangers without being asked tell me where he was. I could move around freely though it was a bit tight in the arms. Hard to get off because of that, but when it was on I had no problem. I even went kayaking in it.

IMPORTANT: Top of dress is unlined! I had a tailor put in an extra layer of lining for modesty, or just wear a sports bra underneath.

See through when wet, so wear a white suit underneath for added coverage. I get lots of compliments on it. The reccomended sizes worked for me.

Based off reviews I originally bought a large to be safe, and it was very loose fitting. I then ordered a medium and it fit so much better! I normally wear a medium in most clothing. It was a little tight going over the chest and on the arms, but once I had it on it fit good. The only issue is due to the arm tightness I can’t fully raise my arms but I only plan to wear it for one day so I can work with that.

We raise our family of 7 kiddos to be modestly-attired and they enjoy doing so. This has made swimming a bit strange since they've previously had to wear shorts and a shirt, but with the Ladies 1900 Bathing Suit from Historical Emporium, they can be properly modest in what is technically a genuine bathing suit. The culture has gone so far downhill that, ironically, this bathing suit could almost be worn to church and still be more modest than the things some people wear. That said, it's crazy to think that the 99% naked people at the local pool or at the beach would point at the "weirdos" wearing this fantastic Historical Emporium bathing suit. Although we normally use a private family pool, we would gladly take this on a trip and use it at the seashore. We would stand out no matter what, so we're happy to do it boldly with the outfits H.E. has to offer!!!

This garment will work for the costume I had been looking for. However, the pantaloons (as shown in the pictures) do not come with it. Another $50 and my one-day costume could be complete. In my opinion, had I known this, I would have looked elsewhere.

I ordered a large & the fit is snug. The materials are beautiful; the workmanship is high quality; the colors & style are perfect! But, after worn & washed, I worry that the cotton fabric will shrink.

I am going on a cruise
with "sunworshippers" and this bathing suit will protect me. It will also be a comic release.

My wife ordered a larger size than what she would usually wear and it still was too small. This product runs way too small.

Well made and authentic-looking (as far as I know). The top runs very small so if you're busty, like I am, it'll be tight.

I wanted a swim suit that I could play on the beach in the sand without feeling exposed. This was perfect. I swam in the pool today and it works great in the water too.

Thick cotton material. Look is genuine and makes me feel like the 1900s. I bought matching bloomers. I am 5"7', athletic, 149 lbs. I usually wear between a size 6-8. The dress in a large fits comfortably. Biceps are snug. My waist is 28 and there is plenty of room. Not skin tight. I bought the bloomers in a size small and those fit prefect.

I purchased three of these for an event that will take place next February, and I'm eagerly awaiting the opportunity to wear mine. I may use it at Halloween so I won't have to wait several months to enjoy it. I'm greatly impressed with the quality of the bathing suit. The fabric is of a nice quality, and the construction is of good quality. I'm most impressed. I feel the suits were a "bargain" at the price we paid for them. We are constructing our own mob caps as we want a patterned fabric rather than plain white, but most likely the quality of the mob cap would follow suit.

Now that I've seen the quality of product, I know I will be buying other items from your site. Love it!

I have 5 girls and have now purchased 3 suits for the 3 oldest. They found them online and begged me for them. The fabric is great quality. The 2 oldest have had theirs for 3 years and still going strong. They wear a one piece bathing suit under them and use them to swim in for modesty sake. We have received many a complement and have referred many people to the site. The little ones can't wait to be big enough to have one of their own. Very, very beautiful. Maybe in the future you will make more colors, like gray and brown. This is a suit anyone could be proud to wear. Thank you.
