Strawberry shortcake, a trellis of rambling roses and our Vera Day Suit in Red Floral were her pleasures of the season. Summers in the 19th century called for a slow, sweet pace and cool cotton clothing for the enjoyment of nature’s enchantments.
Fashioned in a pretty red floral print, this suit slips on in two pieces, the blouse features a metal-buttoned bodice tailored to flatter the hourglass shape. Puffy sleeves with an off-white undersleeve and pointed hem add additional era-specific detailing. Lots of off-white lace and ribbon detailing on the sleeves. The skirt, which measures 40 inches long in the front and 43 inches in the back, has a 10-inch ruffle along the bottom and is unlined with a comfortable elastic waist.
Fashioned from 100-percent cotton. Imported. Dry clean only. Available in sizes S - 3X.
