Cora Edwardian Dress - White

I am extremely happy with this purchase and would not hesitate to reccomend it.

I am using it as Edwardian dayware on Mackinac Island for the "Some Where in Time" gathering. (I've gained weight from chemo therapy steroids and can't wear my normal historic attire) but couldn't afford to replace my custom dresses.

This dress looks fabulous with my custom Edwardian roses hat. I titled the review "Rich Look" because my hat, gloves, purses are of authentic reproduction status and inexpensive "costumes" usually look bad with rich, well appointed accessories. This is often due to the use of non authenticity, plastic-like, modern cheap laces. This dress uses none of that cheap lace!

The Cora Dress, Instead modern cheap lace, has authentic white cotton embroidered "lace" and transitions well out of "costume" status into more of a living history quality.

I would buy it again.

I really liked this dress. It was well made and fully lined. Unfortunately, I was not able to find a size that fit properly. It was overall, way too big so I sent it back and exchanged it for one size down. However, it was too small in some areas and just right in others! Both were at least 6 inches too long! So, I had to return the second dress too. Historical Emporium was quick to credit my account and sent out the second dress fast. Unfortunately, I had to spend over $20.00 for the total shipping cost to return both dresses. None of this was Historical Emporium's fault. I do recommend this dress to anyone who has a textbook figure to match the measurements on the chart and who is TALL!

I've searched all over the internet for an easy, not TOO expensive Edwardian lingerie-dress. This is the best I have found so far! It's really very lovely. The cotton fabric is more durable than I expected, plus it is lined with an additional cotton layer. Not see-through, yay!

I ordered a SMALL; my measurements are bust 35", waist 27", hips 38". My one complaint is that the hips area is almost fitted- no extra room, though the bodice is plenty big and fits loosely in the shoulders and everywhere. I'm okay with it, but I must put the dress on over my head, and the bodice gapes if I completely raise my arms. I'm fine with it though- I don't do jumping-jacks much! ;)

I can't wait to wear it for a picnic this summer!
