The canvas is made of 100% cotton and it has a rich and unique texture that has a very durable feel and nice heftines to it, very similar to a trucker jacket. And the barely noticeable but tight stitching in the fabric is a testament to how well this coat has been constructed. I just love the modern style and the traditional charm that this coat brings with it. Fair warning, there is a very strong odor in the canvas that takes some getting used to, but for me, it just adds to the already intriguing allure of this coat. The odor becomes less pronounced over time and wearing of the coat. I am a big and tall guy that wears between 54 and 56 in the chest, 48 in the waist, sports a 19 inch neck and wears a regular size and this coat fits me perfectly.
