During the Regency and Victorian periods, silk openwork patterned socks saw a significant rise in popularity among the aristocracy. These finely crafted socks boasted intricate designs, adding an air of luxury and refinement to any attire. Lightweight and breathable, they were favored for their elegance during warmer seasons, becoming a symbol of status and sophistication among those of discerning taste.
The openwork patterned design is centered on the front of the leg, extending from mid-calf to the top of the toe. One size fits approximately a 9-12 men's shoe, and due to the inherent flexibility of knit items, these socks can comfortably adapt to various foot and leg shapes for both men and women. Made from a blend of 70% silk and 30% nylon. Hand wash or machine wash cold on delicate. Made in the USA.
These long socks fall below the knee for those over 6 feet tall and over the knee on everyone else. Also available in black.
