Experience timeless elegance with our pocket watch fob. This exquisite accessory adds vintage charm to your style while connecting you to a rich history of craftsmanship.
The pocket watch chain fob originated in the 17th century and gained widespread popularity during the 18th and 19th centuries. Initially, fobs were simple seals or small objects attached to watch chains to aid in pulling the watch from a pocket. The term "fob" is believed to derive from the German word "fuppe," meaning pocket.
As pocket watches became more common among the upper and middle classes, fobs evolved into decorative accessories. During the Victorian era, fobs reached their peak of elaboration and significance. They became status symbols, often made from precious metals and adorned with gemstones, intricate engravings, or family crests.
Our fob measures 1/2" in diameter and 1 1/4" in length, from top to bottom. Made of gold tone alloy and stone. Stone is visible from both sides. Imported.
