In the old west, cowboys most frequently wore tall boots to protect the legs from brush, rattlers, and other dangers. Often they used military leftovers because they were widely available, and well suited to the rugged terrain. Boots with heels were preferred because they could hook on the stirrups and not slide through while the cowboy was riding.
Townspeople might wear common shoes around town, but boots were far more versatile.
Our line of mens old west shoes and boots ranges from classic tall riding boots to congress gaiters and lacer boots. Please browse our line, and contact us if you have any questions!
