Minna Stewart, New Homesteader

As a hardworking and resourceful New Homesteader, Minna Stewart set out on her own to make a life in the vast American West. Growing up on a farm in Illinois, Minna developed an affinity for animal husbandry and brought her skills to her new land in the Kansas Territory

One evening, as she nursed an injured calf back to health, Minna spent the night in the barn to protect it from a pack of wolves, demonstrating her dedication to the wellbeing of her livestock.
