The ever-dreaming Arista Delmar had a fascination with the sea and the enchanting nymph-like creatures rumored to live deep beneath. Her parents always scolded her for these ‘fancies and fabrications,’ but in her heart of hearts, Arista knew one day she’d grow up to uncover the myth and prove them wrong.

Not long after graduation from finishing school and her self-taught marine biology studies, Miss Delmar found what she was looking for in the cold waters off the western tip of Cornwall. After failing to make waves in the scientific community with her discovery, she journaled her experience in a literary best-seller about mermaids entitled “Breathless Enchantment.”
