As a truly modern gentleman, Mr Potts has forever been an enthusiast of all manner of sport, and an avid outdoorsman.

In his youth, he was an avid rower, but age has slowed his oars so he no longer races, but still regularly sculls for exercise and vigor. Now as a man of means, he actively promotes the sport to young men, avowing its benefits as the finest athletic discipline known to man, tending as it does to habits of sobriety, unselfishness and self restraint.
