After excelling at the prestigious Königliche Hochschule für Musik and earning a Doctor of Music degree in classical studies, the brilliant yet easily bored Mr. Lentz began the prelude of his career with a pick of musical apprenticeships around the world. Signing on at Ye Royal Philharmonic Society in London, he quickly played his way to a first-chair spot with his usual crescendo of prodigious achievement.
However, his interest in performing for the aristocracy and other society snobs slowed considerably to a level of melancholy adagissimo, as noted by his heavy-hearted parents. It wasn’t long before this one-time pride of a small German countryside village was tickling the ivories (and the ladies) in the bawdy, big city music halls. Forget about proper concertos and sonatas; the chorus of coarse lyrics in some of his original compositions found favor with the masses and has remained in the domestic repertoire to this day.
