The watch works perfectly. It is well packaged and was protected during shipping. It is a joy to carry and use. The skeleton dial can be a bit distracting and can make it difficult to discern the hour hand in some positions. It may just be a matter of acclimation. I was glad to find this available.

charles hubert makes gorgeous pocket watches, very reminiscent of the victorian period. this one is beautiful and large, with an easy to read face. it keeps excellent time. the embossed designs on the front and back make it stand out, and also it resists fingerprinting. any pocket watch by charles hubert makes a lovely gift, or heirloom. it's fantastically rare to find something like this of real quality, that was not made in china.

I got this pocket watch for my boyfriend as a graduation present! He absolutely loves it! The window where you can see the gears is an awesome touch. I had hopes to get it engraved but there isn't really room with the design on the front and back. Other than that though I couldn't be happier--and neither could he!

I live in Vancouver, Canada; and I was looking for classic pocket watches as gifts and fashion pieces for my best men at my wedding. This pocket clock is very attractive; I like the flip-open case, and the authentic-old style Roman numerals. I am a volunteer docent and tour guide at the local National Park, and when leading tours for 4th-grade history classes, it comes in handy in teaching the kids how to tell time with an analog watch, for they only seem to know smart phones. Will "clockwise" and "counterclockwise" lose their meaning?

Our grand daughter has chosen the theme of late Victorian for her wedding. Her colors are red and Gold. The first coat, shirt and pants that I ordered were too big and I needed to return them for the next smaller size. The exchange was accomplished within 5 days. A company rep. was very helpful when I called about the problem. The replacement garments are a good fit although I will need a small alteration to the vest because my middle is larger than my chest. Quality & workmanship of clothing is excellent and I expect that they will last for many years.... and Never go out of style. Thank you! I plan to order additional items in future.

This watch was every thing I expected and more. I'm lucky enough to have my Great, Great Grandfather's pocket watch, but am very selective where I wear it. This watch, with the exception of the exterior finish (a brighter gold color) is very close to an exact match to his. The ONLY draw back, and it's due to the way I wear it, is the chain is a little short. But that's on me. I don't seem to carry a pocket watch in the traditional manner. If you're looking for a period correct time piece worthy of daily carry, this is your watch. Shipping was faster than expected. I will be ordering more in the future.

My order arrived Tuesday! EVERYTHING I ordered was perfectly amazing and of high quality! I was (am!) blown away! AND, to top it all off, Historical Emporium refunded my Next Day Air Shipping ($63!) because I live in Southern California, which is within their 1 day ground shipping zone already. What? I purchased the pocket watch for my partner for Christmas. When it arrived I was entranced at how beautiful it was - I had been a little nervous buying something like this off the internet, so was very happy to see how nicely presented it was and just how beautiful the watch was to look at and hold. My partner loves it - and as an engineer he especially liked the fact that he could see the moving parts of the watch.

Bought this a year ago for my husband, who already owned and used several different mechanical pocket watches. The main problem with the other watches is that pocket lint would gradually work its way into the case, causing the gears to seize up and the watch to stop working until it was opened and carefully cleaned. The case on this watch seems to be quite secure & tight-fitting; despite being in daily use for a year, there have been no problems with the watch at all. I've now ordered a second watch for him, in chrome finish. Highly recommended!

I ordered this watch because it came with a chain and looked great with my outfit. It does look great and keeps good time but because of the fancy cutout on the face of the watch, it is very hard to see the hands to tell the time. Also, ring on top that holds the chain comes off rather easily. I do like the watch and its worth what they are charging but its no heirloom.

This mechanical wind up watch works really good! It never needs batteries and it keeps accurate time. Classic looking time piece and looks beautiful! I am not sure it is waterproof though? It makes a good survival watch.

I have loved pocket watches since I was a kid. This is the first top drawer watch I've owned. It's as accurate as any watch I've ever had. I've used battery operated ones for years, but got so tired of having to replace batteries. No worries winding it daily. Easy to remember. Very pleased with this watch. I have wanted one for a very long time, and this the first one I have found that matched what I saw in my mind's eye. Outstanding quality in my opinion. Need to wind it daily, but I am enjoying that ritual. It is more accurate than I expected, it loses about a minute a week. I think it is simply AWESOME!

The pictures of the watch on the Historical Emporium website were beautiful, but even they did not prepare me for the splendor of the actual article. It is a solid, sturdy piece of jewelry. but with the elegance of a genuine work of art. The Roman numerals are clear, sharp, and easy to read, but you don't need to open the watch to learn the time: you can see the position of the hands through the opening of the case. A matching opening in the dial lets you watch the escapement tick back and forth (I find this both soothing and fascinating). The price is low considering the quality of the watch, and even lower when you consider the pleasure and pride of owning something so lovely.

I love the look of this watch, and it's easy to get mesmerized watching the works "tick". At this price, I'm SURE it's not really gold (probably "gold tone"), but it's close enough for me. The hands are a very fine and small, so it's a little hard to read in dim light, but then how many times will I be doing THAT? Keeps good time, and completes my "Old West" look nicely.
