I have several of these vests from Historical Emporium. I wear them at casual business events, travelling, etc. With a white shirt (some period/historical; black slacks, boots) o look smart but a bit unconventional (I'm in IT :).
The vests are lightweight, fit nicely (I leave them unbuttoned).
I'm 6', but thin/lean build (28" waist) so small works.
They wear well; some are 7+ years old, only fraying a bit.
With the collection I have its a great wardrobe

Two minor issues:
1. The vest appears to me to be a bit short - I'm 5'9" tall, 230lbs, and it doesn't cover my beltline - my shirt is showing above my belt all the way around me. I've never needed to buy "tall" clothes before, but apparently I would need to do so for this item.
2. The only comment is that tailoring was absolutely necessary. Although I purchased the correct size for my check/waist size, the vest was rather baggy around the lapels/check area. After $60 worth of tailoring, it now does not have the unsightly wrinkles in this area and fits well. In all fairness, I've been given to understand that tailoring is required for most/all vests.

Love it! Quality of the fabric and styling are excellent! Great crossover piece with a classy touch for my favorite looks -- can go from formal to casual depending what it's combined with. Something I can wear to work, church, and downtown. The rounded bottom hem works nicely for displaying a fancy belt buckle. The Large size is slightly big for my 44" chest, but the adjustable buckle in the back makes it work, sizing is comfortable without buttons straining. Love the four front pockets, plenty of options for storage. The color is better described as brown/black, not brown/navy. The darker stripe is a soft black, not a blue tone. Love the brown/black stripe as it is, coordinates with more of my shirts/pants/jackets than the brown/navy would. The vertical stripes give a subtle slimming look.

Bought this and the matching Ferndale Striped spats to complete my patent medicine salesman 'living history' persona and am 1000% pleased with the fit and appearance. Both items look great in the website photos but are even more impressive in person. Really liked the higher neckline on this vest and the 4 pockets in front are perfect for everything from my pocket watch to a small bottle of 'cure all'.

I first discovered Historical Emporium a few years ago when I wanted a special look for my daughter's wedding. This latest purchase is just for an old time look with no special occasion in mind. The vest is very nice and true to size. I wasn't crazy about the fabric covered buttons, but I was able to change them out for some nice vintage style antique silver buttons.

Our grand daughter has chosen the theme of late Victorian for her wedding. Her colors are red and Gold. The first coat, shirt and pants that I ordered were too big and I needed to return them for the next smaller size. The exchange was accomplished within 5 days. A company rep. was very helpful when I called about the problem. The replacement garments are a good fit although I will need a small alteration to the vest because my middle is larger than my chest. Quality & workmanship of clothing is excellent and I expect that they will last for many years.... and Never go out of style. Thank you! I plan to order additional items in future.

I feared the vest would have look cheap or a piece best worn in Halloween. Yet, the material and look is certainly worth the peice of admission. It can be readily worn without feee it looks like a cheap cosplay garment. The process was seamless with very quick delivery to the northeast

This is a beautiful vest with nice lines. I have not worn it as often as I planned because both welt pockets are stitched in the middle, and though the description suggests they would hold a watch, the remaining gap is too small. Since a fob watch is a common accessory for such a vest, this was disappointing. The vest is otherwise very good.
Editor's note: Pockets are sewn shut for transit and can be fully opened with a seam ripper upon receipt.

I'm a big guy... 6'3" with a couple of extra pounds, so every time I order a vest it's a gamble of whether it will be wide and short, or baggy and too long, etc etc. This vest was not only a perfect fit (shoulders, chest, waist and length), but the quality was apparent and I'm VERY happy with it. Highly recommended and well worth the $$.

I most recently had the opportunity to attend a “Black Tie Chic” event.
I did not want to purchase an entire tuxedo- what do to?
I turned to the myriad of shirts and vests at Historical Emporium to put together a “look”.
To include the Tuxedo-look of the Sinclair Edwardian Club Collar Shirt and Gold Klondike Vest.
Well let me tell you I looked sensational- some folks came up to me and said I looked dapper.
I was worried about size but the vest xxl fit fine-
I did have a bit of a problem with the vest - one of the metal buttons was not sealed closed properly in the back - it had a very sharp metal opening- which actually when I put on the vest - sliced through the thread of the back of the button-
within seconds- button was on floor. I have thought of sending back vest- but will try to send to a tailor to try to repair.
Otherwise- vest was as advertised- great fit.
Bottom line - I will definitely be a repeat customer.
