A Fine Garment
I purchased a Highland Town Coat a few years back and always enjoyed the wearing of it to the point
that it's now a bit 'frayed'. The Brewster is virtually the same style so when I saw it on the
site I had no doubts in knowing that this was the ideal replacement.I am an average height so I can't
get away with wearing a Frock Coat,more's the pity so the length of the Brewster meets my needs.
If at the Emporium you have any influence in the design another inside pocket would be useful,still
a 'Five Star' from me though,Thank you.

Brewster frock coat
The Brewster frock coat made by Scully runs much larger than the Historical Emporium frock coats. Also the lining is not as tight fitting as the Historical Emporium brand. When I tried the coat on the lining protruded beyond the sleeve and had to be pulled back into the arm. The Morning Coat in the same size as the Brewster fit well where the Brewster was quite a bit larger. Curious to know if this is a one off or common between the two coats.
Editor's note: The Brewster Frock Coat is modeled on a style from the 1860s. That decade was known for their coats being large and somewhat blocky in style. In contrast, morning coats were made to fit closer to the body for a sleeker style.

A little big
This was the third frock coat I have purchased and I love them all but this one was a little over sized. I take a 40 and my first two fit me perfect however this one was more of a 40 extra large so I had yo get it tailored. Other than that it's a great coat everything the discription says

Very nice frock. Not your average re-enactor type apparel. Very well made, the polyester feels good, not as heavy/hot as the wool types. I ordered a 42, it fits a bit more like a 42L. Sleeves just barely a bit long for me, but still acceptable. The upper L chest pocket is not a real pocket, it is for an appearance look. I would prefer that it would be. Over all- A well made jacket, looks great! I will wear it with my cowboy boots and hat, with a dress shirt and bolo tie- That attire will be good for any outing!

The coat was better than my expectation. It has fine tailoring and will work better than had wanted. Great product and would order more clothes from here in the future. I ordered this coat and other items to wear to my beiges wedding which will go with the theme. Great job!!!

While the Brewster Frock Coat is excellent for reenacting, it also looks great out on the town with a pair of jeans. Very comfortable, roomy, classic!

perfect for my needs
The Brewster frock coat is exactly as described & looks great. Fits well too. Perfect for our theatrical production; although it looks substantial, (from an audience it looks as if it made of heavier wool) it is lighter & therefore easier on the actor. Made of synthetic fibre, it will also last much longer use - will not soil as easily by make up.
ALthough it is labelled "Dry Clean", my experience with polyester gabardine has shown me that it should be washable - on "gentle" of course.

Too much work to wear this coat
I bought this Xmas gift for my husband thinking it was like the old LL Bean duster coats. Unfortunately it wasn't at all like those coats. There were about 12 buttons to button to put this on - really impractical. The fabric may have been as described but this was not going to work for my husband.

The canvas fabric is quite durable, so i imagine it's just going to get better
