I have only worn them once but super comfortable. My only complaint has nothing to do with the boots but with Canada Post and Customs. If ordering from Canada be aware there is an additional 16% of added tax and duty, along with the exchange on the dollar. All that puts the costs over $200 for the boots. Not terrible but be prepared to pay the extra.

I was leery of buying footwear on line, there are too many size variations, and many sites are hard to exchange or return. But I liked the return policy and ordered the Ladies Leather Victorian Boot in black. I am so glad I did. They fit like they were made for me. Size is true, I have gotten many compliments on the boots. They are well made, and of good materiel. The leather is soft and pliable. Very comfortable walking in them. Shipping was fast, arrived two days sooner than was expected. Will definitely be ordering more items from Historical Emporium.

I wear a size 7.5 and was worried about the boots not coming in half sizes so I ordered size 8. The boots are very comfortable and not too sloppy. I'm extremely happy with the quality of the footwear for the cost. I expect to get years of use from them.

These are just what I was looking for, they appear to be good quality. I'm glad that a place like this exists that manufactures Victorian era clothing.

These boots are EVERYTHING. Stylish and comfortable and one of my best purchases. I took them on a trip to Italy and wore them with all of my dresses they were so perfect!!! I almost don’t want to tell people where I got it from lol!! (But I did of course) I normally wear a size 10 and I got size 11 and they fit perfectly. I have long toes (like fingers ) so there’s that.(my foot measures 10.3 inches, if that helps anyone). Anyway I plan to buy them in all colors. I love these boots sooooo much I am going to buy a backup pair. Buy them!!!!

I bought these shoes for everyday work use. I ordered a size up because I am a half size and I have wide feet. Even though the shoes look narrow they fit well and surprisingly didn't squish my feet!. They are very comfortable and I can wear them all day without any issues.

I have had to return the shoes to exchange for a larger size as they were too tight. I really can't give you feedback on the shoes inasmuch as I could barely get them on. I normally wear a 10. Only one time have I had to go higher in size until these shoes. I'm hoping that the 11 will be good for me.

I ordered the ankle boots to wear to a wedding in NOLA on Halloween weekend with a Victorian theme. Guests were encouraged to wear Victorian costumes. These boots and the purple parasol were the perfect finishing touch to my costume TY!

This was exactly what I was looking for to complete a 1920's costume. I ordered a size bigger than usual and do think the sizes are true to form, but is still working out okay with socks. Great customer service too.

Though stylish, these boots were not as expected. Very hard leather and was advised by Customer Service, as there are no 1/2 sizes, take the larger. I was swimming in the boot; no socks would have made the difference. Also, just wore them for less than 5-minutes in the house and could already see the "leather" may end up creasing. Cost me $11 to return.

Thrilled to receive these good-quality boots that arrived in a few days, were exactly as described, and are working very well for me in a production of The Music Man. I feel like you can't beat the price and the quality is solid. I did round up .5 on the size to leave room for socks and comfort insoles which was a good choice.

I needed Victorian style boots for a music video shoot and was told about this site by my fellow actresses. They recommend I order a size up and wear thick socks for all day filming, so that's what I did. I simply cannot express my appreciation for the amazing fit and comfort! This is the first time I have come away from an all day shoot without soreness... and we were DANCING in this one! So, I am also an "extras casting director" and do many westerns. I received my boots and as soon as I opened the box, this terrible chemical smell came out. It smelled like fuel? The material the boots are made of reek. I was hoping that after a couple hours being out of the box, the smell would go away...but it didn't. So I went to return them, and found out that they do not pay for return shipping! BEWARE!! It cost me $28.95 to return these boots that I paid around $50.00 for. I debated keeping them, but the smell was so bad, I wouldn't be able to wear them out. Make sure you read return policies first!

I have very wide feet and these types of footwear tend to really hurt my feet. BUT, these are the most comfortable ankle boots I have ever worn! I wore them to a western event and was there 6 hours or better and my feet never hurt at all! I highly recommend them :)

I am SO happy with these boots. The zipper and lacing make for a perfect fit...even for a gal with big, strong calves like myself. I will certainly be getting a lot of wear out of these elegant boots since the heel is not too high or intimidating. :)

I've bought a pair of these boots every year since or two since 2014 because they're so perfect for fall through spring where I live. This year I was just shocked by the quality. There was dried glue around the edges that I could pick away with my finger, the heel foundations were loose, some edges were unfinished, and worst of all, both zippers were stuck so soundly that I have to spend 10+ minutes wrestling with them to zip up in the morning. My fingers are raw and red and hurt typing this. I know these are costume boots not made to be worn daily, but it's so bitterly disappointing to see the prices go up and the quality go down. These will probably be my last pair. 💔

I've been wanting another pair of Victorian boots to replace the ones I had back in the late 80's-90's and these were exactly what I was looking for! They were shipped and arrived quickly, the packaging was nicely done as well. I wasn't sure about ordering online since couldn't try on; my feet swell, and I have lower back issues, so the height of heel is always problematic, but these were perfect. I waited to try on after my workout when I have foot/ankle swelling and they stretched and accommodated easily and were really comfortable. I plan on wearing these for a planned trip to Salem in October and worn a few times while out and about, they already feel "broken in" enough for long hours of walking and standing. I've been hunting for a year to find Louis heel lace-up black Victorian lady's boots. These are so comfortable, and they look amazing! Even after breaking my leg above the ankle a year ago, the heel is not bothering me, and I see no problem with wearing these with my regular goth wardrobe when our weather gets cooler. My only regret is that they are not available in leather. I'd buy those in a heartbeat.

Just what I was looking for! Good look for stage productions that take place in the late 19th-early 20th century. Comfortable to boot! Was concerned as to whether I should size up or down because they don't come in half sizes. Sized down and when I took them out of the box I was a little worried, but as soon as I slipped them on I knew I had nothing to worry about. Fit beautifully. Came incredibly fast as well.

This boot is exactly what I needed for my steampunk/Dickens Faire look. I'm a 9.5 and these are a size 10 but they fit just right with a medium weight sock. I wore them on a girls night out with skinny jeans and they were comfortable and eye catching. A good value.

I have to admit, I was skeptical of ordering wedding shoes from a website that sells historical clothing. I'm used to shopping online through large retailers such as Etsy or Amazon, so I was nervous about this purchase. But my experience with ordering these boots was smooth sailing. They shipped within a week, and when they arrived they were gorgeous, and high quality. I'm using them for wedding shoes, and while the boots are antique white vs my dress which is bright white, I feel they still match very well. We are using these for a musical theatre stage play of Mary Poppins for the Jolly Holiday song to be worn with the white and red dress. I was concerned about the sizing but both of my Mary's say they are comfortable. They have been wearing them for rehearsals. They do require socks especially since these shoes being worn for dancing.

Beautiful well made black boots with lace sides perfect for my outfit. I loved everything about these boots except that the tap on one of the heels turned sideways the first day I wore them. This was easily corrected and hopefully won't be a problem. Absolutely a beautiful look.

We ordered several pairs (50 or so) of these ivory boots. There were 15 or so pairs of these boots that were in a different shade of ivory. I was disappointed as we are a stage choir and our costumes are all supposed to match, including our shoes. You can see the difference in color on stage. (Editor's note: We try our best to have multiple sets of shoes match. Unfortunately, our supply chain has also been affected by the pandemic and has limited our flexibility for the next few months)
