Was concerned about quality as I had never ordered from them before. No need, very high quality and very happy with the look.

I have several of these vests from Historical Emporium. I wear them at casual business events, travelling, etc. With a white shirt (some period/historical; black slacks, boots) o look smart but a bit unconventional (I'm in IT :). The vests are lightweight, fit nicely (I leave them unbuttoned). I'm 6', but thin/lean build (28" waist) so small works. They wear well; some are 7+ years old, only fraying a bit. With the collection I have its a great wardrobe

I bought this for every day use and very happy with it. The fit is perfect and the fabric is a good quality. I'm looking forward for more items.

I got this as the replacement of the one that I got a decade ago. I love the old one, and it looks like the new one will work just as well! The old one, by the way, wore and frayed in a way that looks REALLY good!

I'm 6'4 and other regular vests were a little short. This tall size vest fit great.

I am a pastor and occasionally I have an opportunity to do a service that requires a vintage Parsons outfit. I'm going to be speaking at the 100th anniversary of the Easter sunrise service at a famous rock in my city that has been used by traveling preachers since 1837. My other vest was getting a little too tight so I needed a bigger one.

This vest is definitely made with care! Durable and functional for any occasion!

I wear that vest two or three times a week. The upper pocket is for my monocle.

Very good canvas material and well stitched... Seems durable. I use the items that I buy from Historical Emporium for everyday wear and having access to canvas pants and vests at reasonable prices is very nice. Shipping is fast and customer service is THE best I have delt with lately.... I cannot express how happy I am overall with Customer Service for Historical Emporium. The only small drawback is that sometimes the sizes I want are out of stock at the time I want to order. I have checked back at a later date and been able to find the sizes I want, so I would advise others to be patient and check back.

Once again, great items and first rate customer service, coming through when my horrible local post failed me. I have bought from them before and will continue to do so again.

Already have the Brush Cotton Sack Coat so I knew the matching vest was going to be perfect, Good fit for me, I like the four pockets.

My husband loves his new vest. The brushed cotton is a very heavy quality material. The vest's short waist makes it very comfortable for daily wear.

Surprised at the heavy weight cotton, less akin to costume wear, more like every day work vest. Buttons are large and tight but will probably loosen up over time.

I ordered this and several other items for my daughter's upcoming wedding. The entire package arrived several days earlier than expected, and I was skeptical of the purchase, but once receiving all the items I realized the material quality was high the fit was perfect and the price was great. I ordered this green vest as a "Santa Vest". I didn't want one with snowflakes, snowmen, or reindeer. Ths one was perfect. Size was great, too.

My only wish is that it would have been in more historical materials rather than modern cloth.

No occasion. Just thought I would start gathering my western attire. I wore to church and everyone really like it. The only problem I have is that, I measured wrong and I chose my usual size(XL, when I should had chosen 2XL). It doesn't go over my belly, but that's ok, because I can wear it unbuttoned. The bow tie fits great. I want to build a complete western outfit, but I'll have to do it one piece at a time. I would like to get a pair of cowboy boots next or maybe a couple of shirts(Bib styles). Then, I'll work on getting a couple pairs of pants. At least, that's the plan. I'm very happy and glad I found this store. I check this site often and add items to my wish list. Keep up the good work.

This vest is spot on. Had to workout an exchange because I needed a tall - MEASURE THE LENGTH! You'll save yourself the trouble. Once I got this vest though I was sold. The quality is great. Nice solid canvas with a beautiful texture. It's already starting to soften and bend more easily with some wear. The buttons and back strap are all super solid. It's just super well constructed, great fabric quality, excellent fit. I'll be back for more. This is exactly what I was looking for. Great quality at a great price. Thanks!!

Great looking vestments, I am sure glad I found these!. I reccomend this to anyone who loves wearing blue jeans casual, I knew how good this thing is going to look, just as soon as I saw, and touched it, I haven't seen much of any other clothing offered anywhere else this good. I really like this vest and plan to use it when the weather warms and stays warm to complete my casual/dress up look. Either with jeans and a casual shirt or with a dress shirt, tie and dress slacks.

I first discovered Historical Emporium a few years ago when I wanted a special look for my daughter's wedding. This latest purchase is just for an old time look with no special occasion in mind. The vest is very nice and true to size. I wasn't crazy about the fabric covered buttons, but I was able to change them out for some nice vintage style antique silver buttons.

Our grand daughter has chosen the theme of late Victorian for her wedding. Her colors are red and Gold. The first coat, shirt and pants that I ordered were too big and I needed to return them for the next smaller size. The exchange was accomplished within 5 days. A company rep. was very helpful when I called about the problem. The replacement garments are a good fit although I will need a small alteration to the vest because my middle is larger than my chest. Quality & workmanship of clothing is excellent and I expect that they will last for many years.... and Never go out of style. Thank you! I plan to order additional items in future.

I feared the vest would have look cheap or a piece best worn in Halloween. Yet, the material and look is certainly worth the peice of admission. It can be readily worn without feee it looks like a cheap cosplay garment. The process was seamless with very quick delivery to the northeast

This is a beautiful vest with nice lines. I have not worn it as often as I planned because both welt pockets are stitched in the middle, and though the description suggests they would hold a watch, the remaining gap is too small. Since a fob watch is a common accessory for such a vest, this was disappointing. The vest is otherwise very good. Editor's note: Pockets are sewn shut for transit and can be fully opened with a seam ripper upon receipt.

I purchased the vest for my husband for Christmas. He loves the covered buttons. He plays the guitar, and was impressed by the covered buttons because they will not scratch his guitar. He loves the color and cut of the vest. And it looks great on him!!

Love it! Quality of the fabric and styling are excellent! Great crossover piece with a classy touch for my favorite looks -- can go from formal to casual depending what it's combined with. Something I can wear to work, church, and downtown. The rounded bottom hem works nicely for displaying a fancy belt buckle. The Large size is slightly big for my 44" chest, but the adjustable buckle in the back makes it work, sizing is comfortable without buttons straining. Love the four front pockets, plenty of options for storage. The color is better described as brown/black, not brown/navy. The darker stripe is a soft black, not a blue tone. Love the brown/black stripe as it is, coordinates with more of my shirts/pants/jackets than the brown/navy would. The vertical stripes give a subtle slimming look.

Bought this and the matching Ferndale Striped spats to complete my patent medicine salesman 'living history' persona and am 1000% pleased with the fit and appearance. Both items look great in the website photos but are even more impressive in person. I ordered the whole suit; Frock coat, pants, vest and spats. Great quality. I'm 6'2" 215lbs and the XLs are a little on the large size, but I'll be getting them tailored. Not sure if the large would have done it, so not a big issue. LOOKS GREAT. Good weight to the fabric.

Seems great. Haven't tried to wash/clean it yet but the quality is nice. Trust the tape measure. I couldn't bring myself to order a size large as 100% of my wardrobe is XL. Ended up having to exchange it. I think I could have even fit a medium. Trust the tape measure procedure they give you. Also, go a size up on the pants as suggested. The Ferndale combo looks pretty sweet.

when you get to the larger sizes, it is sometimes hard to find clothes that fit. well so far everything we have ordered through here has fit. and look great on. this vest is well made and could be worn in everyday life.

I was looking for a straight bottom vest. I probably would have bought this all cotton beauty in sable, but my size was sold out. NO REGRETS! This is not only a soft, well-sized, extremely well-made NOT from China garment, it is really a complement to all my clothes, (most of which are HE products, due to their overall quality). Seriously, one of the best "side features", it is well-lined and just heavy enough not to wrinkle whether riding or sitting for long periods. Frankly, I'll bet any color will be a sound purchase for you, so don't be afraid to step out of your comfort zone. I did when I bought this Sand Mountain vest, because til now, I've been wearing a black goat hide, pointed front vest. My highest recommendation on this garment.

this is the third vest I have tried to fit and again it is way to large in arm pits. fits around middle but arm hole poke out forward. looks weird..

I ordered this vest in Medium, which is long enough to wear with Victorian high waist trousers or modern blue jeans. This is a perfect compliment to wear with the Sable Frock Coat and Trousers, and it is dressy enough to wear with modern dark brown suit or laid-back in dark brown jeans and leather jacket. I love the extra pockets, which are deep enough to carry lots of useful items.
