I really like this cap. I found it to be true to size and fits comfortable. I bought it in a brown tweed to wear with blue jeans or other brown pants for a casual look. True to tweed the cap has very small flecks of color which permits compatibility with any color shirt. The top button is neat and the sides of this cap are fuller than other narrow fitting driving caps and that's just the look I wanted. Thanks for this cap.

Arrived in 3 days. My head is 7 1/4" and the Cap fits snug in the medium size. Great Cap well made. I bought both colors. I have had several nice comments about the hat when wearing it in public.

I'm fairly sure that I took my measurements correctly, but the Medium seemed too large (I have a 7-1/8 hat that fits me well, and several hats in Medium that fit me well by different manufacturers). I know the style is supposed to be baggy, but I thought I had about a centimeter or so of give, and the brim was noticeably wide my face. I might have asked to exchange it for a small, but I feared the small might be too small, and the brown tweed wasn't quite what I wanted when I saw it real life. The picture is pretty accurate, but the weave has specks of turquoise in it, which I just didn't think looked right. HOWEVER: If it fits you and you like the look of the weave, it's a VERY nicely made hat. I order from Historical Emporium because I like styles that society has unwisely decided to abandon, not because I like to wear costumes, and Historical Emporium sells real clothes in these styles. This is one of them.

Size was too small (xl). Not even close.

I took my chances finding that right of 8 panel cap...but they have a great return policy if I had any issues. But it looked real good... not too puffy, not too small... just right. love it. I'm back to the 1920's.

Thanks for this hat. While I don't find the tweed fabric itself very interesting, the hat is styled and cut exactly as I wanted. The size, too, is very true. I'm truly fond of my new hat, and I don't mind saying that I've tried quite a few that didn't meet my tastes. Customer service is very good.

About ten years ago, I bought a similar hat made in Ireland at an Irish Fest in the Chicago area. I somehow lost the hat and wanted to replace it. The newsboy cap I bought on this site was made in the USA, but almost identical to the one made in Ireland.

Over 35 years ago, I purchased a newsboy cap for my husband at Disneyland - their hat shop was selling it as a replica of the cap worn by Bert, the chimney sweep (so wonderfully portrayed by Mr. Dick Van Dyke!) in "Mary Poppins." He has worn it every fall/winter since and it is on its last legs! We have been searching for a replacement for the past few years and after seeing your ad in 'Smithsonian' magazine, I found this cap on your website. It is practically perfect (the body is just a bit wider than the original), even made from the same sort of brown wool tweed. The size is perfect and the product is well made. After doing extensive research on the web, I purchased the Newsboy Brown Wool Tweed cap. The pictures looked good and the price was right. The cap I received is much better than I expected it to be. It is well made (in the USA), fits as it should and looks great. I was so impressed that I immediately ordered another just like it in the grey version. These are definately the hats that I will be wearing from now on. Also, although I requested standard shipping (on both orders) they were shipped 2-day delivery. With such good product and service you can't go wrong doing business with these folks. I undoubtedly will be ordering from them again. Soon.

I am quite pleased with the cap I received. I live in Louisiana where heat and humidity are the norm the majority of the year. I was afraid that the cap would be too warm for our terperate climate, but found it to be quite comfortable. I have purchased 2 newsboy caps from other vendors, previously, thinking I would be getting the big, floppy cap I received from you. Of course I was disappointed when they fit too closely to my head. Comfortable, stylish and practical, this hat is everything I hoped for!

I'm very impressed with the quality of this cap keeps my head cmpletely dry in the rain and you can even see the rain dripping off of it. Others tha I have owned had a similar effect however the quality and tightness of the weave puts this one head and shoulders above the others.

If you're like me and need to wear a hat to tame your magnificent locks but refuse to wear baseball caps and don't want to be seen in a fedora outside of a Justin Timberlake concert, then you know how hard it is to find quality hats that don't cost half a week's pay. Well thanks to the fine humans at gentleman's emporium you don't have to, high quality hats and good prices, I wore their top hat at my own wedding. The cap arrived safely and timely. I liked the looks and construction of the cap. When I tried it on my head, it was too small for me. I had full intentions of returning the cap at that point. My 20 year old son walked by as I was trying on the cap and said, "Cool cap, I want it!" When he tried it on, it fit him perfectly. He and that cap are now inseparable. I have to agree that he looks very sharp on him. Now I am under pressure to finish the 1915 Ford Model T speedster and teach him to drive it.

Love this cap. Does well to dress up or dress down. Well made but sizing a little off but worked great after stretching.

Feels great, fits comfortably and if it wasn't in the dead of winter I'd wear it every day. Sometimes, I even wear it about the house.

This cap was very reasonably priced, and the quality is quite acceptable, a good value. The XL size is perfect for me (7.5 US), and as it is designed to rest down on your head size is not critical unless you get it too small. This one won't be mistaken for the super premium imported caps you see, but it looks just fine.

Very good cap, even has buttons on the visor which can be opened to extend the crown. Terrific looking cap.

Smart looking cap! My head size is right on the break from S to M. Previous review stated they ran big so went with small. Could of used a fraction bigger but a medium would have been sloppy. Wifey likes it, so Win-win for me!

This is a great well made hat. I am very involved in the live steam hobby and I like to wear this hat when I am running one of my Live Steam Locomotives. It is very appropriate for the time period that my engines represent.

I wanted a cap to wear that was appropriate for my 1939 Plymouth Business Coupe at car shows. This fit the bill perfectly. The cap arrived in a few days and was high quality and as described on the site. I really like the way it looks and feels when I wear it, like going back in time when I drive my car.

My favorite Ivy cap was chewed on by new puppy. I searched for a long time and this one came the closest to what I wanted. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it didn't go as flat as I would like it to, but that's probably because it's new. I do get a lot lo compliments when wearing.
