Victorian Ladies Purses
Purses, or reticules as they were known, were small handbags, originally netted and typically having a drawstring and decorated with embroidery or beading. When the reticule first appeared, it was made of netting. As time went by, they were made from all kinds of fabrics, including velvet, silk, and satin.
