Pinstripe Walking Skirt - Black/White

The skirt is what I expected and matches perfectly with the striped blouse I ordered from this website many years ago. The hoop slip I needed to go under the skirt was out of stock for my size so I had to order one elsewhere; that was my only disappointment.

Construction is quite good. I have always like this Gabri look!

I purchased this pinstripe walking skirt and the matching shirt for an upcoming event in my hometown. The event requires us to have on traditional looking 1850's clothing. This outfit is fashioned perfectly for the time period, very well made and fit true to size. I am so impressed and felt the price was great for the quality I received.

The fabric and construction is good quality, but of the 4 skirts I ordered, 3 had to have the center back panel completely removed to fit properly at the waist. These definitely run a bit big.

I was very pleased with this skirt. Fit was as described, with quite a bit of flexibility based on the multiple buttons available.

This was the only item in my order that matched my expectations based on the picture.

Although I think the products are a bit pricey, I certainly can not complain about the construction. I purchased both the blouse and skirt and both are very well made. I am new to this time period and a little hesitant about the look of the outfit but I think it will work for 1895. I thought the adjustability of the skirt was very clever and doesn't detract from an authentic look, at least as far as I can tell. I figure I'm saving myself a lot of work and aggravation by not sewing this one from scratch. However, I will be jazzing it up with some borders and an additional collar. I will also add horsehair around the hem. This is all for an event later this month where I give house tours and like to dress to the year the house was built. I think I'm pretty happy with this purchase and will be buying a white blouse sometime in the future.

I love this skirt. It is nicely made and looks great in the black and white pinstripes. I wore it for the first time today (with the matching blouse and a black jacket) for a suffragette outfit that I wore to one of the Women's Marches. These are made like real clothing, not costumes, very nice. The skirt feels very accurate to the period - smooth and staight in front with a wonderful great sweep behind. I wore three petticoats under it for the full effect. It felt great! I did get the hem quite muddy, so we'll see how she does in the laundry!

I am very pleased with the pinstripe skirt. The fabric and quality are great and the adjustable button waist makes for a good fit.

Though I used reasonable measurements as instructed, this skirt was much larger. Even after washing, with a fair amount of shrinkage, I had to alter the waist. But my whole outfit with the blouse and hat was stunning. I got many compliments at our 4th of July festivities.

Just what I wanted. The material is perfect as is the style. The size small fit but was a little tight around the waist. I returned for the medium which fits perfect with room to expand. Hopefully, I will not need it to expand.

I wore my skirt with a regular-non hoop petticoat and it was perfect. It was comfortable and I received several compliments. I have since ordered a blouse and another skirt. I am only 5'3 and with a two inch heel it was just fine, no hemming necessary. Very nicely made and the material is perfect.

I love the skirt, it looks fabulous on, especially with some crinoline underneath.
There were two things I didn't like about it.

Firstly, the size was not as expected. I ordered according to the size guide and the waist was much too large. Nice in and of itself, but I needed to re-order or do a drastic alteration. Lucky for me the event I'm going to was postponed so I had time to re-order. I ordered two more in descending sizes and was happy with the smallest one I ordered. So the first one I ordered was two sizes too large, and I ordered according to the size guide.

Secondly, the way it closes in the back leaves gaps which may be period correct (or not, I have no idea), but I'm not thrilled with that issue.

That being said I do love it and will have lots of fun wearing it. I will totally buy from you again!

I normally don't take the time to give feedback on online purchases but must make an exception for this one. The skirt, matching blouse & belt are great quality & fit true to measurements given. I ordered the outfit & put a note in the remarks section that I needed the pieces for an event in about 3 weeks. I asked them to let me know if this would be a problem. I received a response the next day that my entire outfit had been mailed! I had the outfit in 2 days & was thrilled with the whole experience with HE. What great customer service! Little big in waist for a small. Easy to alter. Beautiful material and good construction.

Cut and style was nice but did not like the material for our needs. Staff helpful and skirt arrived promptly.
