Wedding bells will be ringing when you wearing this white Antique Satin Day Suit. Prior to Queen Victoria's wedding, in 1840, a bride would wear a dress of any color, including black (which was popular in Scandinavia). Queen Victoria influnced the world of fashion and created the white wedding dress trend we have today.
Similar to those worn by middle class women in the late 1890’s and early 1900’s, our day suit features a full skirt with small train and puff sleeves. Blouse features a flattering full button front bodice with a fitted waist and large puff sleeves. Skirt is full and unlined with a deep 10 inch bottom ruffle, which is highlighted with contrasting ribbon.
Skirt features an elastic waist for an easy fit, and a back sweep/train that can be worn down or bustled with interior bustle ties.
This style suit is available in several colors.
Wear with a petticoat or Edwardian Hoop Underskirt to add fullness. Length of skirt is approximately 39 inches. Pair with a lace fan or parasol to complete the outfit.
Exquisite satin fabric gives the appearance of raw silk with it's distinctive weave pattern and subtle irregularities which provide character in the fabric, but with much easier care.
Available in sizes S-2X. Imported. 100% polyester microfiber, Dry Clean Only.
