I've made purchases from historical emporium several times before. I live in the West U.S. (Colorado and New Mexico) and like the frontier style of your shirts. Every shirt I've purchased with this style looks excellent along with my flat-topped western hats and my cowboy boots. The complete look is true west - not "Hollywood fakey". I get compliments on what I wear almost every day - from family, friends, and - even from folks I don't know, at a store or shopping mall or gas station for example! I bought the shirt for a costume, but just had to wear it, got great comments, love it.

I read the reviews before purchasing. The reviews stated that the garments ran a size larger. I read where some customers were unhappy because they did indeed run larger to size. So, I ordered the next size smaller than I normally wear. I also looked at the sizing chart. Yet, when I rec'd the 2 garments, even a smaller size, they were still too BIG. Not even close. Very loose. I have sent them back and requested the next size smaller. Which is the only size left to me actually. What was disappointing was though I was substituting the sizes, you do not have free return shipping. I was dismayed to have to pay more money. $18.35. Most any company today offers free return shipping. To have it altered was not a choice, as the garments would have not lined up very well and the cost would have been around $55. I feel I did plenty research before choosing the size that should have fitted me. When the sizing is incorrect due to clothier, they/you should pay for shipping. At least a credit or shipping refund. The clothing was as described and well-made and I was not disappointed in their appearance.

This has been one of the best online purchasing experience ever. The quality of the items is extremely good, not costume at all but real quality made clothing. The sizes run true and the materials and workmanship are good, far better than most regular clothing catalog purchases at similar price. We are renovating an historic edwardian period ranch and mansion in rural Colorado mountain town. The mansion is in good shape now, the interior is renovated and partially furnished. Our intent is to give tours and hold events hosted by docents representing the family that owned and operated the ranch. So we have characters of all types from state senator to and his wife, former socialite from Chicago to ranch hands. Historic Emporium has anything we could want in order to make this authentic.
