As a young widow, Minerva Filmore worked to keep the spirit of her late husband alive through her ambitious and utterly curious undertaking, the Museum of Mysteries. The main wing is home to her beloved’s personal collection of unusual antiquities picked up during the couples' many travels to India, the South Seas, and the Americas (both North and South). Over the years additional exhibition halls were built to showcase the newer “old” acquisitions she acquired with his vast fortune-- armoury, works of art, and historical and metaphysical oddities of every sort.
Now acclaimed worldwide, the Museum of Mysteries draws visitors from around the globe eager to marvel at the countless curiosities waiting within the museum’s eclectic edifice. Filled with good-will and generosity, the widow graciously serves as hostess for many philanthropic endeavors, philosophic consortiums, and general meetings of the minds.
