I'm a costume designer and I wanted to buy this piece for a character. The product is made of a great material and very high quality y'all! They left me a lovely card thanking me for the purchase, but I should be thanking y'all because of how fast it got here and in such well secured packing. They gave me everything I needed. And they (the knickers) look really GOOD!!

I first discovered Historical Emporium a few years ago when I wanted a special look for my daughter's wedding. This latest purchase is just for an old time look with no special occasion in mind. Bought them 2" bigger than my usual size, as per suggestion, and the fit is perfect. Tailor charged $20 to hem them, so glad I got them on sale!!! Extremely comfortable, cool looking pants!! These period clothes will be part of my everyday public wear. I don't care for contemporary fashion at all. Everyone looks the same. As far as the trousers, they're still in alteration for a shorter inseam adjustment so I have yet to wear them.

In the winter I play golf in knickers to keep water from wicking up my pant legs. I usually purchase solid color knickers from Golfknickers.com., but I wanted a pair of plaid knickers so I thought i would try Historical Emporium. We are members of MAFCA, the Model A Ford Club of America. We drive a 1928 Roadster and like to period dress for events and occasions. These trousers, knickers, shirts etc. from Historical Emporium fit the bill. Even though they are earlier vintage, for working guys, they are still in style for the 20's, 20's and even 40's. The fit is good and the quality high. Love the stuff! We are hosting the MAFCA 2024 National Convention at Ruidoso, NM in June and are rigging up for the festivities with new duds.

The pants look and feel great. They need to be hemmed but that was clear when I bought them. I will buy more pants from this store.

In my case, it is usual the length needs to be altered on these type of pants. It was not unexpected. They are of excellent quality, fit well, and look good.

The pants well made and look great. The BIG PROBLEM is the length. The sizing only takes into consideration the waist. It should also ask the customer for leg length. As a result I had to take it to a tailor for alterations. An additional expense.

Ordered these to play "Black Bart" hired gun in a local fund raiser melodrama. Very impressive product. Fit was exactly as advertised. I'll be back.

How can anyone not like this pant, at least anyone who does not appreciate the turn of the century fashion. Perfectly fit my WWI suspenders. Strong yet supple material, all cloth, no polyester etc. Love the high waist, but may take a little getting used to for the novice. I wear them to teach college writing class, and students think I am dressed in the latest fashion. Imagine that! Really no need to comment on the quality of the construction or material and sturdiness. They are titled "Vigilante," after all. I used to pay $60Us or less for Dockers, but no more. Why not make a statement that most will not pick up on. Pockets, also. I will wear this pant tomorrow to teach ENG100 at University of Hawaii's Hawaii Community College (that is the official title), with the suspenders and a white German field shirt. Beautiful. The pants are good quality and fit except for being super long (about 12" too long) so I will have them altered. They work well with the shirt and suspenders.

Way too baggy around the seat, hips, crutch and legs. The pants only fit reasonably around the waist. I can't imagine that ready-made trousers around the 1900s were that ill-fitting.

I am very happy with the style and construction of these pants but when they suggest you to buy 1 size up you should listen. I am a 34 inch waist but I ordered these in a 36 inch because of that tip and it was exactly right and the 36 inch waist fits me just right. The waist on these is higher than modern jeans / pants which is why the slightly larger size fits better. when I got these they were a bit too long to wear with my luchesse cowboy boots but after I washed them they shrank just a bit and now are a perfect fit with no modifications at all. These look great with the Wyatt shirt I also bought and I am very pleased with them.

I'm a wedding DJ and a big one at that. I needed a pair of pants that didn't feel like Wal-Mart clothing but were worth the price invested. I got that and more. These are comfy, tough pants(order them 2 sizes too big, they DO run a bit small) that ride above the gutline eliminating belt turnover and digging into your stomach. They're long as previously stated, but it only cost me $8.00 to have them hemmed at a professional alteration outlet and they are now bomb (perfect)! Get 'em, you won't regret it.

Good pants. Just remember that the waist is much higher than in regular pants, so order them based on your measurement near the height of your bellybutton.

AWESOME pants! I did order one size up based on other previews stating that they ran a little small. Sturdy, well-made, perfect cut (not too sloppy or too tight). Look great with the matching vigilante vest and black elastic tail suspenders! Well worth the money.

I have been buying Historical Emporium's canvas trouser for years, at first for reenacting, now I wear them all the time. They are the best work pants money can buy. I bought the gray herringbone tweed trousers because I wanted something dressier in the same cut. Once I got them on and saw how they were made and how they fit I bought the rest of the suit at once. You will too.

Excellent fit! Bought the whole suit. Had the trousers hemmed and cuffed by a local tailor, very happy with it all. coat and vest are perfect fits. Good material, wish it would be just a slight bit thicker but overall pleased. Finally a nice suit!

These trousers are part of Historical Emporium's Grey Tweed herringbone collection. As recommended, choose one size larger than your usual waist size because of the way they fit. You definitely need a nice pair of button-on suspenders to go with these, and use them when you're getting them measured for hemming. I had mine done with cuffs. Beautiful, high quality trousers. I plan to buy more articles in this collection.

Be advised that these are unlined.

These pants are great for a historical wardrobe, they are comfortable and historically accurate. A bit baggy around the calves, which could maybe be tightened a bit, but that is a matter of taste.

These trousers are everything!!! Exactly what I was looking for. Perfect fit, I just had to have my tailor hem the length, as they all come with 36" inseam. Well worth the money for a perfectly tailored and unique pair of trousers.

The fabric stretches a bit which made them feel about 2 inches roomier in the waist than the same size Wahmaker, Livingston, Dorian, or Sable Trousers. These do itch a little bit but that goes with the fabric type. The extra lining helps with that. Stitches ripped open on the waist adjuster and outer seams of the front pockets after about 5-6 wears. Took me a couple minutes to fix with a sewing machine and could easily be done by hand. I really liked these after doing so. They'll last a good while. To me they're worth the price.

I have been rebuilding my wardrobe and wanted something unique. The photograph of these trousers does not do them justice! I am extremely happy with the feel and look of the material. Being short however, I had to take them in to be shortened. Other than that, I love these trousers. I will be making more purchases soon.

We will be attending the Avalon Ball in May. I needed to find a pair of period trousers. I didn't think I was going to find what I wanted but when I found your website I found the perfect pair. They are well made and look like they just came out of the 30's and 40's

They look great and fit great around the waist, but I won't really be able to tell till I get them back from the tailors that are hemming them in a week and a half and can actually wear them in public.
