The watch works perfectly. It is well packaged and was protected during shipping. It is a joy to carry and use. The skeleton dial can be a bit distracting and can make it difficult to discern the hour hand in some positions. It may just be a matter of acclimation. I was glad to find this available.

charles hubert makes gorgeous pocket watches, very reminiscent of the victorian period. this one is beautiful and large, with an easy to read face. it keeps excellent time. the embossed designs on the front and back make it stand out, and also it resists fingerprinting. any pocket watch by charles hubert makes a lovely gift, or heirloom. it's fantastically rare to find something like this of real quality, that was not made in china.

I got this pocket watch for my boyfriend as a graduation present! He absolutely loves it! The window where you can see the gears is an awesome touch. I had hopes to get it engraved but there isn't really room with the design on the front and back. Other than that though I couldn't be happier--and neither could he!

I live in Vancouver, Canada; and I was looking for classic pocket watches as gifts and fashion pieces for my best men at my wedding. My (now) wife and I planned a 30's/40's style wedding and I wanted my men to look the part with a classic pocket watch. This pocket clock is very attractive; I like the flip-open case, and the authentic-old style Roman numerals. I am a volunteer docent and tour guide at the local National Park, and when leading tours for 4th-grade history classes, it comes in handy in teaching the kids how to tell time with an analog watch, for they only seem to know smart phones. Will "clockwise" and "counterclockwise" lose their meaning?

These are a great addition to a vintage wardrobe. If only there was something to attach to the middle chain, like jewelery or something. Also having a pocket watch on one side means the other chain tends to fall out a fair bit without something weighing it down.

The watch is excellent. For the low price, this watch is a durable, and reliable accessory. It looks good, not at all like some cheap knock off or gaudy trinket. The window on the cover is convenient, and opening the cover reveals a clear and easy to read face ( I've had watches where the design on the face makes it hard to find the hands to tell time quickly. That's a sure fire way to end up collecting dust and never getting used). It came with an extra battery, an added bonus. Some would say that getting a true wind up watch is better, more authentic. I like the simplicity of a modern watch. Set your time and there is nothing else to worry about. I really like my watch and am considering ordering more as gifts for friends and family.

Cute and easy to read, I got nervous about installing battery and getting it started after I set time and thought something was wrong so I called customer service twice! Each time I had a pleasant representative, I forgot his name, but he was awesome and reassured me it was ok to push harder, on stem to activate watch, and it worked. I'm very happy with everything so far with shipping, products, customer service and placed another order already!

A great addition to your watch chains! I wear Victorian clothing when I go out, and a pocket watch is mandatory. The fob gives the watch chain a certain understated flair.

Adds a good bit of detailing for watch chains in photos. Definitely worth considering if you wear red, black, or silver vests.

Our grand daughter has chosen the theme of late Victorian for her wedding. Her colors are red and Gold. The first coat, shirt and pants that I ordered were too big and I needed to return them for the next smaller size. The exchange was accomplished within 5 days. A company rep. was very helpful when I called about the problem. The replacement garments are a good fit although I will need a small alteration to the vest because my middle is larger than my chest. Quality & workmanship of clothing is excellent and I expect that they will last for many years.... and Never go out of style. Thank you! I plan to order additional items in future.

This watch was every thing I expected and more. I'm lucky enough to have my Great, Great Grandfather's pocket watch, but am very selective where I wear it. This watch, with the exception of the exterior finish (a brighter gold color) is very close to an exact match to his. The ONLY draw back, and it's due to the way I wear it, is the chain is a little short. But that's on me. I don't seem to carry a pocket watch in the traditional manner. If you're looking for a period correct time piece worthy of daily carry, this is your watch. Shipping was faster than expected. I will be ordering more in the future.

My order arrived Tuesday! EVERYTHING I ordered was perfectly amazing and of high quality! I was (am!) blown away! AND, to top it all off, Historical Emporium refunded my Next Day Air Shipping ($63!) because I live in Southern California, which is within their 1 day ground shipping zone already. What? I purchased the pocket watch for my partner for Christmas. When it arrived I was entranced at how beautiful it was - I had been a little nervous buying something like this off the internet, so was very happy to see how nicely presented it was and just how beautiful the watch was to look at and hold. My partner loves it - and as an engineer he especially liked the fact that he could see the moving parts of the watch.

I was looking for a good mechanical pocket watch and this one is very attractive, feels good in the hand, opens and closes very well and keeps good time. I look forward to passing it on to some lucky member of the family.

Bought this a year ago for my husband, who already owned and used several different mechanical pocket watches. The main problem with the other watches is that pocket lint would gradually work its way into the case, causing the gears to seize up and the watch to stop working until it was opened and carefully cleaned. The case on this watch seems to be quite secure & tight-fitting; despite being in daily use for a year, there have been no problems with the watch at all. I've now ordered a second watch for him, in chrome finish. Highly recommended!
