These velvet spats make the boot look very Victorian. Love the look.

For the life of me, I cannot figure out why there are not more reviews on this product! I dress in costume for a local group of women and I wanted a pair of spats that I could wear over my existing shoes and save me a purchase of another pair of boots or shoes. These fit the bill ... perfectly! Oh my goodness, they are so easy to put on and they're very comfortable. I did not notice once during my time in costume that I knew I had a pair of spats on. I love the way they shape my ankle. I had another pair that I had custom made with a pattern, and I thought the spat made my ankles look like elephant ankles! These hug my ankles and give the illusion slim and long. I'm short; 5'2"! ! I'll take any length I can get! The quality is that of hand made. The velvet is of quality and the ribbon tie is a very stylish touch. The elastic that runs across the bottom of the foot is secured tightly so you won't have to worry about it slipping around or a malfunction of the stitching coming undone. They are secure! Overall, it is a purchase that I have no regrets and ... the spats have been getting a lot of mileage from this gal. They really are great!

Got these for my wife,we do the Dickens on the Strand in Galveston every year and she saw these at one of the vendors and liked them so I gat her a set for Christmas and she loves them ; just might wear them with her gown at Madi Gras.

These spats are extremely well made. The fabric and notions used in construction are of great quality and the appearance is quite lovely.

The fabric and quality of making is excellent. The design for putting on however is awkward. I leave the spats on the shoes because the lace needs to be loosened quite a bit to pull up over the shoe to sit properly. I feel maybe buttons might have been a more practical option even though the lacing looks great??

I purchased these to go over the Granny boots that I got from here. There were perfect fo covering a little bit of my sock that showed above the boot top and they held everything together. I received many compliments on my costume and would definitely recommend Historical Emporium to anyone that seeks time period clothing.

I was happy to get this pair of beautiful, burgundy velvet spats! The fabric is luxurious, and the ribbon ties are dainty. My concern was whether I would have difficulty sliding them over my booties, but they were easy to get on and off. They stay in place and look elegant. Happy with this purchase!

They are cute, and seem like good quality, but they seem too small. I didn't think I had "cankles" but when I laced these up there was a large gap across the top. No one seemed to notice though.
