Very good quality
The pants ended up not being proper from the civil war era. But, they are nice and fashionable even for today. They were sent with a signature requirement which almost defeated the purpose of paying extra for quick delivery. If I had known a signature was required I would have waited for the mailman. As it was I did pick them up at the post office the next day. If I hadn't known the postmaster, the package would have gone out on the truck again, and I could have missed it yet again.

This garmet was beautifully made out of quality fabric.
Unfortunately the pair I received had a small flaw in the fabric in a visible area so I had to send them back.
Fit: These riding pants would probably work best on someone 5'4" or taller. Also the waist is very fitted, no give, even though the garmet has lots of flowing fabric.
I'm 5'1" weight 125lbs and the waist on the small was pretty snug ( my waist measures 30")
Very disappointed they didn't work.

They fit is as if they were custom sewn for me and me alone. The pockets are fairly horizontal so they don't pooch out badly. The fabric is butter soft, and the rise exactly matches my waist to crotch ratio. They swirl nicely around my legs as I walk like a skirt, but since they are pants, my thighs don't have to be overly friendly. :) As I am not a small woman, my thighs do not always have a civil relationship with each other. I ordered the XL - I have a 40" waist and they measure exactly 39"... I'm okay with this.
I WANT MORE!!! I can totally see what I am wearing this summer.

Excellent quality, but runs large!
The fabric for these sueded riding pants is lovely, and they are lined. The only initial disappointment I had when I received my first order was that the sizing was way off! I have a 31.5" waist and initially ordered a Large that was supposed to fit waists up to 32" but I was floating in them, they were enormous around the waist and not even wearing a belt would have helped. I returned them and ordered a Medium that was to fit waists up to 29" and they fit perfectly. So something appears to be a bit off in the measurement guidelines. I've noticed this to be true with sizing recommendations for blouses as well based on two purchases made. Aside from that these riding pants were a great find and I absolutely love them. The photo doesn't quite do them justice because I didn't think the fabric would be as high quality as it is. I would definitely recommend these riding pants if you're looking for an item like this, just be cautious about what size you order to avoid the hassle of having to ship it back to exchange it for another.

This was my first purchase from Historical Emporium and the quality is outstanding! Everything arrives neatly pressed, in plastic bags and with very fast delivery. These riding pants are great, I have an American Quarter Horse and have used them to ride in, they are comfortable and perfect for this. The quality is very good and hard waring, only problem is they will get dirty quick using them this way so I will need another couple of pairs, might even have a blouse to complete the look.
My stables are based on the Western theme and we have open days where we set the Dutch Ovens up over the camp fires, finding this Historical Emporium site will enable us to dress up to make it more authentic - expect more orders coming you way.

This riding skirt is such an amazing product! I have horses so going out riding or working around the ranch has never been so comfortable! The skirt has so much room for you to move your legs and since it is polyester it does keep you nice and cool on hot days. I personally like to go with historically accurate clothing material but this one makes an exception! I highly recommend this skirt!!!

The skirt was way too big. When I was ordering it I was told that they run small so even though I usually wear a small or 4 that the medium would probably fit best. The medium was at least 2 sizes too big. I have experienced other orders that the sizing was undependable.
