After reading all the reviews I could find I figured of course the shirt and trousers I purchased would need alterations so I ordered a tad large an had items sized to fit. The order came in weeks ahead of the posted date which allowed extra time for the alterations to be completed, and much to my relief since I had waited way to long to make a decision. The Ranch coat was a perfect fit and much better looking than the image projected .

Had to send it back because the size ran small. But it looked fantastic. Can't wait to receive the one in his size.

Great coat and fit...a lot of notice by others

A fine Gentleman's canvas Ranch Coat, that lends a casual, but stylish aire to any man with vintage era taste. The contrasting materials are distinctive and flattering. The fit was perfect. But note that the shoulders are well padded (and visible when the unlined coat is removed from your person), hinting at a scoche more sophistication than your average ranch hand. Being made of canvas, is is easily cold-laundered, but will likely arrive quite wrinkled. It would have been nice to have a link on the site, or a note on how to excise such undesirable folds in the material when it arrived. Such was not the case. My research lends me to offer this, due to such deficit: Place the fabric on top of the iron board, use the water in a wet but not dripping towel, as you press with a hot iron, to excise the worst of the wrinkles. Being constructed of canvas, it will always be imparted with character bearing nuances in its surface.

I normally wear a large and these are really large more like double x. Other than that it is what i expected

This coat does not stand out from the crowd, but it will keep your 19th century citizen warm. We used it during an outdoor evening event in New Hampshire, and with some toasty under-layers, this coat stood up to the wind and kept our guy warm.

I bought this coat according to chest measurement for my husband. While it DID fit in the chest, it was just as large everywhere else. We had to have it tailored, and even so, it's still too big under his arms. It will work for afternoon events, as a wool coat would be too hot. The material is similar to a heavy, soft denim. My husband is happy with it, so it's all good.

I use this as a topcoat. I am a train conductor on an antique railroad. The website does say they run large. Normally wear a size 48 regular. The largest they carry is a size 46 (special order). It is way too big. like a least one size if not two. I needed it so I wore it for one trip, I can't use it. It's just too big. The quality is good but just too large. 4 stars only due to sizing.

I've wanted a coat like this for some time. I love the shape; slightly flared skirt and "loose" fit. The skirt; not too short, and not too long! The material feels sturdy as well. My only gripe is the side pockets, they're in an awkward position and small, making it hard to put items in and to take out. Other than that, this coat is awesome, thanks!

The quality of the coat was excellent but the sizing was way off. Followed the sizing instructions for all the items and all were great except for the coat. I'm a solid 52 chest and I know that cuz I just had a suit made last year. This thing was way oversized to the point I had to have it re-constructed as I didn't have time to return it. Other than that it was all great quality stuff.

The Livingston Black Brushed Cotton Town Coat is an excellent item for style, fit and price. Highly recommend.

This is a very nice authentic piece. The fit was perfect, almost tailored. I've received compliments from those who recognized a vintage piece of clothing!

An attractive and durable coat with a generous cut, my only issue with the Livingston Town Coat is that the two external side pockets are slightly awkward in terms of size (the coat is a large fit, but getting my hands in and out of the pockets while I'm wearing it is a little more difficult than it should be, should I try to retrieve my phone or wallet in a hurry, as the pockets are relatively small) and positioning. And given the coat is unlined, there are no internal pockets. Hence the four instead of five star rating. That said, the coat matches VERY well with the Livingston black brushed cotton waistcoat and trousers, to present you with a three piece suit of a unique appearance and texture; I wear mine to work regularly and am complimented on its look.
