I got a hat, cane, and spats for my son's steampunk theme wedding. Everything was perfect.

These are so very, very high quality. They're listed as 'silver' but I feel a more accurate description of the color would be 'pearl grey'. And the sizing chart that accompanies the various spats available is absolutely spot-on. They fit as if they were custom-made. I am consistently amazed by the quality of every single item I've purchased here, and these silk spats are no exception.

I just received a pair silver jacquard spats. As part of a 1920's costume it seemed like a good add on. I am very impressed! Good material and nicely finished. Clearly, you get what you pay for. The label stated Historical Emporium so was a unique product. I am very happy with them.

The very first time I wore these I was asked, twice, where I had procured them. "I have been looking for spats like those, where ever did you find them?" Indeed, these spats are much nicer than the typical sort of spats you might find. I am quite pleased with them. These spats do not slide around or misbehave the way poorly made spats might. Note that I used the sizing advice and found it to be accurate. Measure your ankle and buy with confidence.

These are the third pair of spats I've purchased from Historical Emporium and they are superb in quality and price

I bought 2 pairs of spats. 1 pair of brown, 1 pair of crimson (which are more of a burgandy color). The quality is first rate. The shipping was fast and the sizing is spot on. Gentleman's Emporium is one of my favorite web stores to shop at.

What can I say? They're comfortable, stylish, and I get lots of compliments on them. Plus the brown is a nice shade; it matches a safari jacket I got here that the store no longer carries. If you need good spats that are noticeable (but not overly so), these are them.

So, I bought these to complete my outfit but was very surprised at the quality of them. They are not one layer of fabric, they are lined with a very nice black fabric. Both layers are good heavy cloth that should last a good while. Sizing was spot on and they just look great. I'm going to enjoy these.

Well made, good looking spats. I use them for LARP and put them over a pair of Easy Spirit leather tennis shoes so that I can walk around on site with slightly less modern looking shoes that keep me from hurting my poor foot bones. The elastic has held up well so far (two three-day events so far) and I have gotten lots of compliments on them.

Delivered 7 days ahead of the deadline. The spats themselves are of amazing quality and seem more than durable enough for long-term wear.

I picked this set up to go with a specific anachronistic ensemble. They were such a nice visual touch, tying together other red elements higher up. I get complements on "those shoe cover thingies" (as nobody seems to know what to call them). I think I'm going to get more of these in different colors and add them to my more contemporary outfits. These seem to be nicely made, rugged looking. Thumbs up!

After much debate on what to wear for Comic Con this year (I vacillated between investing in a high-end Star Wars costume, the Bandersnatch from Alice in Wonderland, etc), I at last decided to go as a Victorian Doctor and purchased an ENTIRE outfit along with many accessories, all at the VERY last minute, from Historical Emporium. Everything I ordered was in stock (Woot!) and I upgraded the shipping to Next Day Air based on my indecisiveness and my waiting to order 3 days before Comic Con. I placed my order on Sunday night. My order arrived Tuesday! EVERYTHING I ordered was perfectly amazing and of high quality! I was (am!) blown away! AND, to top it all off, Historical Emporium refunded my Next Day Air Shipping ($63!) because I live in Southern California, which is within their 1 day ground shipping zone already. What? Who does that? Holy moly - what a great company, what outstanding service and what amazing products! I'd write more but Comic Con starts in 24 hours and I've got to get ready!

Ordered a pair of these to dress up my Formal Hufflepuff outfit and they're great! In the past I've only be able to find cheap, vinyl costume spats which, while effective, have also been rather uncomfortable. These were much more comfortable, especially about the ankle (I have just over a 9" ankle and ordered a pair in small), and look smashing! I'm already looking at different styles and colours.

Okay... They fit well and are exactly as described. Other than to try them on, I've not worn them. I'm waiting until I can afford to purchase the rest of my chosen ensemble and the choice is an autumn and winter outfit. When I've received the entire collection, I'll most certainly send a picture. This pair of spats will go perfectly with my business suits as I go to work in the colder months. I own 2 pairs of my Army issue black oxford shoes, and with these spats, they will offset my brown, burgundy, and tweed suits quite nicely. These appear to be a quality product, sewn ruggedly, made with durable material.

This is my newest pair of Spats from the Emporium and they helped set off my evening at the Tremont in Galveston this year for the Dickens Fest. Got all kinds of complements on my dress . very well made and stylish, , will wear them again to the black tie dance and diner for Christmas .

The fabric is wonderful, I also have the matching Satin puff tie. You may say people would not take a look at a man's shoes, nevertheless they do! Otherwise I would never have recieved such great compliments.
