The watch works perfectly. It is well packaged and was protected during shipping. It is a joy to carry and use. The skeleton dial can be a bit distracting and can make it difficult to discern the hour hand in some positions. It may just be a matter of acclimation. I was glad to find this available.

charles hubert makes gorgeous pocket watches, very reminiscent of the victorian period. this one is beautiful and large, with an easy to read face. it keeps excellent time. the embossed designs on the front and back make it stand out, and also it resists fingerprinting. any pocket watch by charles hubert makes a lovely gift, or heirloom. it's fantastically rare to find something like this of real quality, that was not made in china.

I had hopes to get it engraved but there isn't really room with the design on the front and back. Other than that though I couldn't be happier--and neither could he!

I live in Vancouver, Canada; and I was looking for classic pocket watches as gifts and fashion pieces for my best men at my wedding. My (now) wife and I planned a 30's/40's style wedding and I wanted my men to look the part with a classic pocket watch. This watch was every thing I expected and more. I'm lucky enough to have my Great, Great Grandfather's pocket watch, but am very selective where I wear it. This watch, with the exception of the exterior finish (a brighter gold color) is very close to an exact match to his. The ONLY draw back, and it's due to the way I wear it, is the chain is a little short. But that's on me. I don't seem to carry a pocket watch in the traditional manner. If you're looking for a period correct time piece worthy of daily carry, this is your watch. Shipping was faster than expected. I will be ordering more in the future.

Everything I ordered was in stock (Woot!) and I upgraded the shipping to Next Day Air based on my indecisiveness and my waiting to order 3 days before Comic Con. I placed my order on Sunday night. My order arrived Tuesday! EVERYTHING I ordered was perfectly amazing and of high quality! I was (am!) blown away! AND, to top it all off, Historical Emporium refunded my Next Day Air Shipping ($63!) because I live in Southern California, which is within their 1 day ground shipping zone already. What? Who does that? Holy moly - what a great company, what outstanding service and what amazing products! I'd write more but Comic Con starts in 24 hours and I've got to get ready!

I purchased the pocket watch for my partner for Christmas. When it arrived I was entranced at how beautiful it was - I had been a little nervous buying something like this off the internet, so was very happy to see how nicely presented it was and just how beautiful the watch was to look at and hold. My partner loves it - and as an engineer he especially liked the fact that he could see the moving parts of the watch.

I was looking for a good mechanical pocket watch and this one is very attractive, feels good in the hand, opens and closes very well and keeps good time. I look forward to passing it on to some lucky member of the family.

Bought this a year ago for my husband, who already owned and used several different mechanical pocket watches. The main problem with the other watches is that pocket lint would gradually work its way into the case, causing the gears to seize up and the watch to stop working until it was opened and carefully cleaned. The case on this watch seems to be quite secure & tight-fitting; despite being in daily use for a year, there have been no problems with the watch at all. I've now ordered a second watch for him, in chrome finish. Highly recommended!

I ordered this watch because it came with a chain and looked great with my outfit. It does look great and keeps good time but because of the fancy cutout on the face of the watch, it is very hard to see the hands to tell the time. Also, ring on top that holds the chain comes off rather easily. I do like the watch and its worth what they are charging but its no heirloom.

This mechanical wind up watch works really good! It never needs batteries and it keeps accurate time. Classic looking time piece and looks beautiful! I am not sure it is waterproof though? It makes a good survival watch.

I have loved pocket watches since I was a kid. This is the first top drawer watch I've owned. It's as accurate as any watch I've ever had. I've used battery operated ones for years, but got so tired of having to replace batteries. No worries winding it daily. Easy to remember. Good watch for preppers too as you never have to worry about batteries!

This watch is a great buy. The finish & pattern on the outside is a bit over the top, but the watch works well, looks good, and the price was unbeatable. I also got it just a couple of days after purchase; The speed was impressive. All in all, a solid purchase.

The watch is exactly as advertised and often causes comments, all good of course. It's handsome, nostalgic and, so far, keeps good time. The window into the works is especially charming. Great for steampunk parties, Mardi Gras or shopping Trader Joe's!

Nice watch, good weight, and pretty. Unfortunately, it did not work. I wound it and it would work for a few minutes . . . then stop. This is how it went for a few days so I immediately returned. I was VERY pleased when I received an email from customer service letting me know that my return was received. I was even more pleased when I received a personal email from customer service telling me that they read the note I left regarding why I returned the watch, were very sorry for the inconvenience, and were going to comp my return shipping fees. The price of the watch plus what I paid to return it appeared back in my account a lot quicker than I expected. Customer service also invited me to contact them in the future if I had a similar problem with a product so that they could help me avoid any out of pocket expenses. Very nice. I must say that I also ordered three vests and a frock coat, all of which are great and fit wonderfully. I really like this store.

I've wanted a pocket watch for ages, but all I could afford in the past was a cheap spring that over wound with seven half twists of the stem. Needless to say when I discovered you had pocket watches at a price I could afford (I am, admittedly, in a better financial place than I have been) the question rapidly became "which one to get?" I went with this one for the colour (silver and copper are my personal favorites), the aesthetic of the classic roman numerals, and the fact that you don't have to actually open the watch to check the time (convenient for a quick glance). It arrived very well packaged, is lovely in person, and came with very clear instructions for care, winding, etc. Needless to say, this one I could wind without it breaking. You do indeed get what you pay for.

What you see is exactly what you get and more. This piece gave the feel of stepping back in time a bit. It looks very elaborate and yet lasting. If you are at all interested in such a time piece, I truly and genuinely recommend this company so all you need to do is find the watch that you or someone you're buying for will like the best.

I purchased this watch as a 50th birthday gift for my brother. I was so happy to find it on this website, as I had no luck locating many pocketwatches at local jewelers, and what I did find did not compare in style to this watch. This watch was exactly what I had in mind, and as stated by another reviewer, it was better in person than on the website! A great watch, elegant, and exquisite frame

I love it. Works like a charm, little sag after each day before rewinding though but nothing much. It's also smaller then I imagined but no big deal. I carried it with me to work for two days and it worked very well. The pin on the chain worked very well on my sweatpants and I got a lot of nice compliments. Has to be rewound every day but you just twist the top so that's easy. If you like pocket-watches then I do recommend it. It's also more stylish then the gold one. More "Classy" less "Bling" over it.
