Pants are true size/cut to fit, but come long/need hemmed.

It was for a film project for 1858 scenes that we bought these style of pants. All of our guys loved them.

They fit perfectly after my wife hemmed them. We wore them to a Victorian Christmas craft show and got lots of compliments.

I'm a big guy, I buy a lot of my clothing from these folks. I wear their things all the time. These pants are more comfortable than anything I've ever owned. Fit just right. Measure correct and size to their advice for the item. I've purchased other pants of this style from them. Vests too. Jacket too actually. All great.vests are incredible. Don't be afraid to buy.

I wear a 38" normal waist, measured where they say to and ordered the 42". It was a perfect fit, Heavy duty and made well. They are dry clean only but to loosen them up I put them in the dryer with a damp towel on a no heat setting for a bit. They are long and will need to be altered.

I ordered this and several other items for my daughter's upcoming wedding. The entire package arrived several days earlier than expected, and I was skeptical of the purchase, but once receiving all the items I realized the material quality was high the fit was perfect and the price was great. I could not have bought a suit for the same price. I am amazed at the outstanding customer service from historical Emporium. I even had to change my pants size day after I ordered and it was corrected and I received the proper fit.

I would have liked an option that is a staright leg to fit OVER boots with same look and cotton material.

They are wonderful they are everything i wanted but they dont fit. I got a size 38 same style from this site and they are grey and they fit perfectly not sure why these are so much smaller. Luckly im on a weightloss journey so they will fit soon

I'm 6'2 and 360lbs, and these fit great, look great (and period correct), and did not shrink in the wash too much. If anything, I might have been able to go down a size (but they'll have plenty of room for winter long underwear). The only PITA was having to hem them, since they come ridiculously long. The fabric is very thick and durable.

The people who said order a couple of sizes up were a godsend. 2-4 sizes larger than you wear is a solid suggestion. I needed more than 2 sizes from my normal; I wear a 34-36 and needed a 40 in my case. Comfy pants, tho! Very comfy. Honestly wouldn't mind having a few pants that fit like these. Also when they tell you to plan on seeing a tailor to get these hemmed, they mean it. Plan to get these hemmed for your height. I had to return my first order to get the correct size, but the return was easy and free of any hassle. Would order again, but given the quality, I probably won't need to replace these any time soon.

The only negative thing is they come in standard inseam length of 36�. Please offer other inseam sizes.

I enjoy how historical these trousers are, along with their rugged style. Putting on a union suit, these pants, suspenders, and boots make you look like you came straight from the American Frontier. The waist is high, the pants look rugged and give a unique aesthetic on the body compared to modern jeans; the length of the pants are great for putting them over boots or tucking the pants into your boots; the waist size (30 I ordered) fits me just right and I have a small waist, and plus there is an adjustable belt on the back of the pants. The suspenders I have with the slits went right through the buttons on the pants very smoothly. These canvas pants feel very comfortable, and I noticed I don't have to constantly fix my tucked-in shirt coming out compared to wearing normal jeans with a tucked-in shirt thanks to the high waist, suspenders, and little bit of stomach room around the pants that keep the shirt where it is supposed to be when I choose to wear a long-sleeved shirt with these pants. The pants, at least mine, are not real heavy, yet they are durable. I highly recommend wearing a duster coat and tall, tucked in boots with these pants and you will look incredible.

I bought these pants as part of my 1880's costume. They look and feel authentic and seem very well made. They do have to be professionally altered to length (they all come in 36" length), but otherwise they're amazing.

Had to get them hemmed but other than that love how thick they are and the way they fit me. It's hard finding clothes for a tall slender young man

I mention the Duke only because I was re-watching Rio Grande and saw this very style being worn by all the Army personnel. The quality is so good that I wish I could wear these everyday, much more sturdy even than my blue jeans I have. These trousers were purchased for my Airship Pirate Doctor, excellent for sailing the open airways.

My husband is a volunteer interpreter at the Tinsley House at the Museum of the Rockies in Bozeman, Montana. Our dress is supposed to depict the 1890' s homesteading era These pants to are just perfect. He is demonstrating the weaving looms and needed a look a bit more tailored than others who work in the gardens or the blacksmith shop. Stop by and visit the Tinsley House and farm. Are your pants sizes generally tight? I'm a 34" waist (really), and I ordered a 34" waist. They're a little tight, but I didn't exchange them for a 36" because that would be too big.

The Regency pants we ordered for a theatrical production look authentic, are well constructed, and adjust to fit different sized actors.

I am very impressed by the construction of these trousers. Very well made. They are exactly what I had hoped they would be. For some reason, they were a little too large (I measured my waist carefully) but I had them altered and they fit like a glove, so comfortable I don't want to take them off. Definitely 5 stars!

My husband bought these for cowboy action shooting. They needed to be hemmed (as always) but they fit really well and he said they are comfortable to wear all day moving around. These have a skinnier fit than other styles.

The trousers are well made, the stitching is excellent. The advertised size 42 was a true 42. The crotch area is very comfortable. The fabric is smooth, substantial but not heavy or stiff.

This is the second time I have ordered the Ferndale Striped Trousers due to their great look and reliable quality. While they are true to size as described on the website, it should be noted that because they are cotton, they do stretch once worn and heated up by the body - similar to how jeans will stretch out once worn several times. I highly recommend these durable trousers.

sadly this was worn at my close friend's funeral. Nice trousers. Waist size is accurate. The only negative thing I have to say is that the leg length is intentionally oversized adding more needless expense and inconvenience if have them altered. How hard/costly would it be to offer specific inseam length options like most other clothing manufacturers?

These are great quality vintage pants. I recommend getting the suspendors; it has buttons ready for vintage suspenders. Pant bottoms are unhemmed.

These are really well made trousers. They are actual clothing and not 'costumey' or flimsy. i appreciate the fact that they come unhemmed. Gents, it's too easy to watch a youtube video and learn how to hem your own trousers. You'll save money, and, frankly, participate in the kind of skills that would have been done at home in the period the garment was first worn. it's just a needle and thread! You have a brain and hands ... Give it a go! They will be perfectly fit to your inseam, and it will be because you made it so.

It find it such a laborious task to find the right pair of trousers: either the fabric is cheap or the cut is wrong. But this place hit the nail on the head. The trousers are of impeccable construction, and the cut is right. They go well with the Bard Shirt as well as any other bibbed dress shirt you may have. Highest quality piece I own, a superior designer.
