Absolutely perfect been threatening to buy for a year now and glad I did it's my new weekend uniform.

It is well made, but it's a little towards costume-like rather than Saville Row, but it will be cozy and festive on Christmas morning. The velvet is soft and the color is rich. If you want the couture quality craftsmanship for a smoking robe, you can spend $300 more.

It is a quality costume product. Price was a little high though.

I have always wanted a smoking jacket or robe and this was the year I decided to treat myself. I love this garment! It makes me happy every time I put it on. Wearing this makes you want to smoke a pipe and sit back with a good book or watch some period murder mystery. It is beautifully constructed, very comfortable, and warm.

My husband loves this and I love hugging him in it. The material is so nice to touch and snuggle but also keeps him warm and handsome

I am 6'6" so I have long arms so general do not expected things to fit my long arms so this jacket could have been a little longer in the arms but otherwise fit very well

This robe looks great, fits well, and it's comfortable in the winter months. But the interior lining tears very easily, even with minimal stress. Every seam on the inside has split somewhere.

Since he was a baby, my grandson has always stripped down, curled up in a blanket, and claimed his corner of my couch. It was fine when he was little, but he is a teenager now. When I saw this, I knew it was perfect for him. He has always had a love for super soft, and this is way beyond that. When I showed my husband, and he tried it on, he immediately asked for one for himself. The quality of the workmanship, and the materials is out of this world

Excellent item with all the requisite (and often lost) necessities of a smoking jacket. It protects my clothes from ash, it soaks up odors from smoke, and it withstands frequent use outdoors. Also it looks sharp as heck! Highly recommend. :)

Good quality. Not so luxurious so don't get your hopes very high. A bit pricey for the product but again it is okay.

Sometimes, but not every day, there is just a need for a velvet jacket. This is it. Wonderful color, and (by the way) quite warm. I have been wearing it in the cooler nights of Pittsburgh out on the front porch after work. Well made, and really cool buttons. Thank you for such a unique product!

The material in the sleeves & back should be heavier. Other than that you need larger sizes. The 4XL fits in the chest, but not in the belly.

I am so glad I ordered this jacket from Historical Emporium! It shipped out to me in about 2 days which was incredibly fast. It came packaged very neatly on a hanger and also had plastic covering to protect it from dust, all I had to do was open it and hang it until I was ready to use it. It is exactly as shown on the photo, great material and my husband received many compliments! He wore it as part of a Gomez Addams halloween costume. Great service and great product! It's very comfortable and reasonably priced. It's a great looking and classy jacket for evening entertainment at home when one doesn't want to be too formal - but not too casual nor sloppy either. Highly recommended!

My boyfriend loves it! Very unique, beautifully made, well fitted, comfortable and regal! He wore it to his company's New Year's eve event and the complements were endless! Definitely a statement when worn out but also nice for classy evening at home and having a scotch in style. Soft fabric feels good to the touch as well.

I had been looking for a smoking jacket with frog closures, and this was a great find. High quality and it is gorgeous! Fit was right on and it seems very well made.

For a theatrical production. Nice saturated color, good fit, and nice details. I would have given in a 5 star had the velvet been a better quality but is truly beautiful on stage and works quite well for period shows.

First, why would anyone buy the jacket? Once you get past that let me tell you that the day it arrived, I slipped it on and grabbed a book and hit the Lazyboy. Up here in Michigan the evenings are brutal in the winter and the older one gets, the more so. This jacket was so warm and comfortable. Fit like a charm and so stylish. I'm so pleased with the fit and the quality. well worth the price. It's like going back in time. sometimes that's a good thing!

I purchased this for my husband's birthday, we're both very happy with it. He is size XL with broad shoulders and the XL fits perfectly. The material is a bit thinner than I was imagining but the extra padding in the front ensures it hangs well. The buttons and lapel are very classy. For the price it was a great buy.

Nice material, classic look, solid construction, moves well... yeah, it's a lovely piece. And the delivery was pretty much immediate, and I live in deep Alaska, and never get that kind of service. The only down side is that I spent this much on a smoking jacket...

The "velvet" and fancy loopholes are so fun. Bought as kind of a gag gift for a friend for his 50th - he loved it!!! Quality is good for the price. So fun and over the top. Purple is vibrant. Also bought paisley ascot with it - great!

The jacket is too stiff and I don't like the button loops.

For in the end, it is the customers and/or clients that make a business. The Vintage Smoking Jacket- Purple Velvet is stunning yet elegant. It will turn customer's eyes upon the entry of my new business to be. The only thing I'm not happy about is that the inside lining stiffens up the smoking jacket. The inside lining has a 'crackling' sound as well which, makes it sound not attractive. The appearance on your website gives the smoking jacket a softer yet flowing look and that's what I expected. But I , also, understand that buying off the internet is always taking a risk. So, being very descriptive about a product will help give a larger image of what to expect. Otherwise, I'm 80% happy with the jacket. Thank you for asking for my input.

This was a gift for my brother. Great looking, my brother loved it. I bought my husband a different smoking jacket that was about $20 more, from the same store, and was blow away by the quality of his. Both jackets were incredible unique gifts.

I thought that the jacket quality was ok but fell short of the steep pricetag

I really wanted to like this jacket. Upon unpacking I have to say that the color is awesome and it really shines. However, as soon as I put the jacket on it was clear that the materials and construction were very cheap. The foam or padding in the shoulders made a "ruffling noise" when it moved, and just the overall feel was cheap and nasty. I returned mine, and true to their word this was easy and no questions asked.

I bought this as a housewarming gift to myself, so I could break-in my new home the right way - with pipes and cigars on poker nights. I picked this style and color since it looked like a smoking jacket Captain Kirk would proudly wear when womanizing and guzzling brandy during his off-duty hours. It's a gem!
