I have always wanted a smoking jacket or robe and this was the year I decided to treat myself. I love this garment! It makes me happy every time I put it on. Wearing this makes you want to smoke a pipe and sit back with a good book or watch some period murder mystery. It is beautifully constructed, very comfortable, and warm.

I am 6'6" so I have long arms so general do not expected things to fit my long arms so this jacket could have been a little longer in the arms but otherwise fit very well

This robe looks great, fits well, and it's comfortable in the winter months. But the interior lining tears very easily, even with minimal stress. Every seam on the inside has split somewhere.

Since he was a baby, my grandson has always stripped down, curled up in a blanket, and claimed his corner of my couch. It was fine when he was little, but he is a teenager now. When I saw this, I knew it was perfect for him. He has always had a love for super soft, and this is way beyond that. When I showed my husband, and he tried it on, he immediately asked for one for himself. The quality of the workmanship, and the materials is out of this world

It is well made, but it's a little towards costume-like rather than Saville Row, but it will be cozy and festive on Christmas morning. The velvet is soft and the color is rich. If you want the couture quality craftsmanship for a smoking robe, you can spend $300 more.

As with many of the items I have ordered from this site, I ordered this to wear to a friend's themed birthday party but will use it for many more social functions. It is very well made and looks great. It will make a great alternative to the more traditional tux. I got so many compliments on the smoking jacket that people forgot to complain about the smell of the cigars I was smoking. Now I'm just waiting for the matching smoking cap.

Excellent item with all the requisite (and often lost) necessities of a smoking jacket. It protects my clothes from ash, it soaks up odors from smoke, and it withstands frequent use outdoors. Also it looks sharp as heck! Highly recommend. :)

The material in the sleeves & back should be heavier. Other than that you need larger sizes. The 4XL fits in the chest, but not in the belly.

I am so glad I ordered this jacket from Historical Emporium! It shipped out to me in about 2 days which was incredibly fast. It came packaged very neatly on a hanger and also had plastic covering to protect it from dust, all I had to do was open it and hang it until I was ready to use it. I just started smoking cigars 2 months ago and found that I really like them. That said, I really did not like that the smoke permeated my shirts and cloths after a smoke. I did a bit of research regarding smoking jackets and found this one along with a few other sites. It's very comfortable and looks great. The price was reasonable and the quality for the price was very good. I wear it when I smoke.

First, why would anyone buy the jacket? Once you get past that let me tell you that the day it arrived, I slipped it on and grabbed a book and hit the Lazyboy. Up here in Michigan the evenings are brutal in the winter and the older one gets, the more so. This jacket was so warm and comfortable. Fit like a charm and so stylish. I'm so pleased with the fit and the quality. well worth the price. It's like going back in time. sometimes that's a good thing!

I purchased this for my husband's birthday, we're both very happy with it. He is size XL with broad shoulders and the XL fits perfectly. The material is a bit thinner than I was imagining but the extra padding in the front ensures it hangs well. The buttons and lapel are very classy. For the price it was a great buy.

For in the end, it is the customers and/or clients that make a business. The Vintage Smoking Jacket- Purple Velvet is stunning yet elegant. It will turn customer's eyes upon the entry of my new business to be. The only thing I'm not happy about is that the inside lining stiffens up the smoking jacket. The inside lining has a 'crackling' sound as well which, makes it sound not attractive. The appearance on your website gives the smoking jacket a softer yet flowing look and that's what I expected. But I , also, understand that buying off the internet is always taking a risk. So, being very descriptive about a product will help give a larger image of what to expect. Otherwise, I'm 80% happy with the jacket. Thank you for asking for my input.

This was a gift for my brother. Great looking, my brother loved it. I bought my husband a different smoking jacket that was about $20 more, from the same store, and was blow away by the quality of his. Both jackets were incredible unique gifts.

I thought that the jacket quality was ok but fell short of the steep pricetag

I really wanted to like this jacket. Upon unpacking I have to say that the color is awesome and it really shines. However, as soon as I put the jacket on it was clear that the materials and construction were very cheap. The foam or padding in the shoulders made a "ruffling noise" when it moved, and just the overall feel was cheap and nasty. I returned mine, and true to their word this was easy and no questions asked.

Bought this for my son-in-law for Christmas so I'm not sure if the size I chose fits or not, but the jacket is beautifully made and came wonderfully packaged on a coat hanger and cover. I sew garments and quilts and this jacket is really made well. Thank you!

I was looking for a smoking jacket for a 60th b-day gift. Originally leaning toward a red velvet smoking jacket but those reviews led me to the Burgundy Brocade because it is not as shiny and costumey. I am the same size as the recipient 5'-11" and 175 lbs. My coat size if 40 to 42 and the medium smoking jacket fit me perfectly. (I was going to keep it if it didn't fit the recipient!) The quality appears to be good. The recipient was very pleased to get it!

I've been fascinated by smoking jackets since I was a kid, watching old black and white movies. Every now and then I'd search for one, but they were either threadbare used ones, cheap costume types, or way too expensive modern day versions. Happened upon Historical Emporium and took a chance and ordered their vintage version. Love it! The material and construction are high quality. Looks and feels like it should cost a whole lot more. But the most important thing? Well, the difference between having a smoke, and having a smoke in this jacket is something that can't quite be explained, it just has to be experienced.

I bought this jacket as a gift for someone special who has always wanted a smoking jacket, and what a successful gift! Had to return an XL for an L; the L fits the recipient very nicely. The brocade isn't too gaudy; it's a nice, rich green. The collar and detailing are terrific. Perfect for changing into after an intense day, to enjoy a whiskey and good conversation. While it doesn't have the detailing of some other smoking jackets offered on this site, it holds its own with a mixture of elegance, dignity, and color.
