This Livingston cutaway sack coat is a very well made coat with an all round tailor-made look & fit's me well the sizing was spot on to my size that i ordered. This is an excellent addition to my Old West wardrobe & highly recommended as a purchase.

The Livingston cutaway sack coat is a VERY NICE coat for the money . It runs true to my standard suit coat sizing and fit me perfectly . The only problem i had was that the top button hole was sewn too small for the button . Easy fix for me so i just handled that problem in house.

The product came in good condition, and it was very sturdy and well made. It was just a TINY bit stiff when we took it out, so trying to get it into a more natural shape to put on our actor was a little tricky indeed. Received the coat and tried it on immediately and noticed how light it was, which was a very big plus for the temperatures that we find on the middle Gulf Coast of Texas. The sleeves were about 6 inches too long, but that was good since the wife can sew (I can too, but only when I have to) and she could fit it to my arm length. Very happy with the coat so far and see no issues at this time!

We were using this jacket as a costume piece for a show. It arrived in record time which was great. We also needed an extra large size which wasn't easy to find anywhere else. The sleeves needed hemming but that 's ok better than too short. The coat was well made and can be kept for future endeavors. It looked amazing and really added to the character.

If you got your measurements done well this coat is a wonderful fit. I did some research on how the coat should drape on the person, and this rests really well on me. I am below average height for a Caucasian male in between 5'5" and 5'6". The morning coat is longer than is traditional due to my shorter stature, but I don't mind that at all. It looks like it was tailored just for you if the measurements were done right.

I am in a garage rock band, all of us 55+ years old, and we are beginning to play some larger gigs. I waited two years to buy this coat and when I slipped in on for the first time I was immediately in awe over the feel of the fabric as it draped around my body. The quality of this coat has no equal. I still need to take the coat to a tailor to make the coat form fitting but this coat demands attention as is.

Nice coat and had that period look and feel. A good fit for the actor I was building a period costume for who was leaving for a film shoot in Austria. The only problem I found was that the p coat buttonholes are too small for buttons. Very difficult to open and close. Since, the actor will be leaving the coat open the problem did not have to be remedied.

I love the coat. I had to take it to the tailor and have the sleeves take up but otherwise it’s perfect.

Right from the box, my new coat looked great, and exactly like what I wanted. As I tried it on, it actually fit perfectly. It's going to be hard to wait till the Christmas Candlelight Tour of Homes to wear it, but I'll try... I would recommend this coat to anyone interested in stepping back in time for Events.

I ordered this cutaway coat in Charcoal because they did not have my size (50) in Black. When the coat arrived, I tried it on and found that the coat was too large. I sent it back and exchanged it for a 48, and this time in black since they had that in stock. It arrived today and am happy to say that the fit is wonderful.

Fine product. Size as expected

This coat arrived in the mail after an incredibly long wait, and found it a little bit of a letdown. The sleeves are huge, so long that my hands got lost in them and I had to have them taken up (which cost extra money). This is normal for me with coats and trousers but these were even longer than usual. The collar and sleeves definitely aren't velvet. They don't have any two-tone shine to them. It's morel like a suede or felty material that just eats up dust and lint. One of the lapels wasn't folded right, it stuck out awkwardly and I had to iron it into shape to match the other side. All of these take at least a star off, as it's a bit of a fixer upper, more so than usual. Apart from that though, it's alright. It has a very nice look, it's ornate and incredibly dapper. The inside pockets are nice to have, even if they're pretty small. I think the normal black one would do just as well. There is no velvet in this whatsoever.

I usually feel that the coats I order from HE are just ok. This one is absolutely beautiful. Really nice texture to the fabric, sleek, and well made.

I attended my first regency event and this coat was perfect! I got the M size first which was a little too big so I sent it back and ordered the S which was just right. Shipping is fast and product is good!

Numerous positive compliments when I wore this to the Fizziweg (young Scrooge's former boss) Ball. Perfect for "Regency" period attire or creating that "Mr. Darcy" look. Paired with a red Buckingham vest. Large is equivalent to a size 44. Excellent fit and drape. Wore again to the Snowball the following weekend. After wearing one more time will beat the cost of renting locally an item from the wrong period.

My husband is 5'4' and slim; usually wears slim-fit suits. We went by your size chart and ordered a medium, but it was huge on him, so we exchanged it for a small, your smallest men's size in this coat. It's still loose on him, but since there is no smaller size, we are keeping it and heading out to our trusty tailor to shorten the sleeves and take in the back and shoulders. It will look quite stunning on him when all is done!

An absolutely delightful coat, very well made, and good fit. The tails go down to the back of the knees on me -- 5'7" female in an XL. Sleeves are a little long, but expected for the time period.

I am not the usual skinny person who can buy a medium or large of anything and have it fit them. I've had some trial and error trying to find a tailcoat for a vampire event. I ordered using the size chart based on my shoulder and chest size and the jacket fits perfectly. Very happy with the fit as well as the quality.

Wow, this tailcoat is great. I'm a professional full time actor and I was hired to perform a historical play. A red tailcoat was required and I spent a good month visiting costume shops in person and online looking for one. Tried on many and they were almost always single layer, no lining, no pockets, poor quality and $300 and up. Saw this one and even though I could not try it on The price was too good to pass. It arrived quickly and as soon as I pulled it out of the box I was stunned by the quality. Thick quality tailcoat, two nice pockets inside and looks very historically accurate as opposed to the clownish bright red carnival circus type jackets that are offered at other costumers. I was really impressed, then I tried it on.....Too small! I ordered a large which would normally fit me, but this large seemed a bit smaller then what I'm used to. I sent it back and ordered the XL with NO PROBLEMS AT ALL! a quick and easy exchange and the new one fit like a charm! I had not enough time to do a return/exchange so I just bought an xl and mailed back the L and it all worked out well. A few days after they received my L I got my refund. I definitely recommend this jacket. Large fits slightly smaller then standard sizes Is darker in color then it appears on the website. expedited shipping is FAST! Looks great with the Penworth ascot and a proper full sized top hat!

Love this tailcoat! Quality construction, definitely better than "costume quality." Taking off a star for the color: the picture is a bit misleading, because it is actually a very dark burgundy, and there's not as much contrast between the red and the black velvet trim.

Originally got the 40 R , I usually wear an AMERICAN 40 R suit . The 40 R tuxedo jacket might have worked but the pants were a bit tight. Went with the 42 regular and both fits were very good. The quality of the suit was very good, as most other reviews stated. I am very pleased with the tuxedo, especially for the price. Exchange of suits no problem

I was very disappointed with the tuxedo coat as one of the buttons on one side had almost completely dropped off and two others below it were very loose. I had to take it to a local tailors for repair.

This is such a great tux at a steal of a price. It will look great at my wedding and at any concert I conduct or perform in. The blue paisley pattern on the inside of the jacket is a darker blue than pictured, which to me is a plus.

I ordered the Vivien Fishtail Skirt (Gray), Velvet Tailcoat, and Marcus Regency Shirt with Removable Jabot - White. I was looking for a formal outfit for an awards show, which was out of the ordinary, and these 3 items were perfect! When I dress formally, I lean towards metro-sexual, so this long skirt with this shirt and velvet jacket was both sexy and metro. I received many "amazing" "fabulous" "gorgeous" compliments from others at the show. I ordered all 3 on a two-day shipping, and in fact received my items two days after I ordered online, which is the first time I have ever received items within 2 days. Sizing was correct to the size chart. I am going to wear this jacket more often.

I think the coat seemed nice, except I could not actually get it on because the sleeves were extremely small compared to the rest of the garment. I called into Customer Service - which was EXCELLENT - they went into the warehouse and measured different sizes for me only to determine that the sleeves only got bigger by 1/2 inch total even though we looked at every size available, including the very largest size available, even a 3X. Additionally, the jacket arrived with a very strange smell, but I presume that came from the manufacturer.

This tailcoat is so gorgeous I'll wear it to many occasions. Just make sure to carefully read the label, it 100% polyester. If it was made from velveteen with satin lining I would given it 5 stars.

I was very Happy with the quality and look of this Coat. The size chart said to go up one size when ordering and I'm glad I did. The coat does run one size smaller. This coat is a brush velveteen look and I am using this coat for a Steampunk Vampire look. You will be Happy if you purchase this Coat from the Historical Emporium. This is my second purchase threw this site and have been happy with both products.

I couldn't believe how well made this garment was for the low price I paid. It's fully lined and the construction is solid. I was lucky enough to have it be a perfect fit for me, and my ruffle necked and cuffed blouse was a perfect coordinate for this elegant piece.

I LuV my Velvet Tailcoat ! I am rather slim & tall, I think. My kids call me little. I know I have broad shoulders. I ordered a Large according 2 the size chart associated with this coat. 2 accomodate my shoulders. ah ha ha & cool I usually wear a Small. Now I have this gorgeous tailcoat that sits nice on my shoulders. I have had 2 move the waist button. Simple procedure 4 this coat. 4 all those so inclined 2 this style enjoy !

This Velvet Tailcoat is very nicely made and the fabric is wonderful. The sizing is a bit off tho, I purchased an 18 which is for a 46" bust, I am a 44" and this was tight on me. I reluctantly had to return it as I knew I wouldn't wear something that was uncomfortable. This coat would be perfect with any Steampunk or Victorian outfit. I have bought from Historical Emporium before and I will again.

I think I was expecting a halloween-type jacket that looks good but had a limited shelf-life for use. The quality of this coat is outstanding! The fit is perfect and this coat is more than a costume. It's a heirloom.
