These are a great addition to a vintage wardrobe. If only there was something to attach to the middle chain, like jewelery or something. Also having a pocket watch on one side means the other chain tends to fall out a fair bit without something weighing it down.

I've wanted a pocket watch for ages, but all I could afford in the past was a cheap spring that over wound with seven half twists of the stem. Needless to say when I discovered you had pocket watches at a price I could afford (I am, admittedly, in a better financial place than I have been) the question rapidly became "which one to get?" I went with this one for the colour (silver and copper are my personal favorites), the aesthetic of the classic roman numerals, and the fact that you don't have to actually open the watch to check the time (convenient for a quick glance). It arrived very well packaged, is lovely in person, and came with very clear instructions for care, winding, etc. Needless to say, this one I could wind without it breaking. You do indeed get what you pay for.

What you see is exactly what you get and more. This piece gave the feel of stepping back in time a bit. It looks very elaborate and yet lasting. If you are at all interested in such a time piece, I truly and genuinely recommend this company so all you need to do is find the watch that you or someone you're buying for will like the best.

I purchased this watch as a 50th birthday gift for my brother. I was so happy to find it on this website, as I had no luck locating many pocketwatches at local jewelers, and what I did find did not compare in style to this watch. This watch was exactly what I had in mind, and as stated by another reviewer, it was better in person than on the website! I couldn't have been more pleased with the ordering or delivery, and the watch itself is exquisite, was a big hit as a gift, my brother loved it.

A great watch, elegant, and exquisite frame

I love it. Works like a charm, little sag after each day before rewinding though but nothing much. It's also smaller then I imagined but no big deal. I carried it with me to work for two days and it worked very well. The pin on the chain worked very well on my sweatpants and I got a lot of nice compliments. Has to be rewound every day but you just twist the top so that's easy. If you like pocket-watches then I do recommend it. It's also more stylish then the gold one. More "Classy" less "Bling" over it.

i had this watch for a couple of months i took care of it like loved it like a son, then it slowly broke down it got to the point where it would only take one half turn to wind it.i sent it off to be fixed and it needed to have its entire mechanisim replaced due to all the parts were warn down.

The pictures of the watch on the Historical Emporium website were beautiful, but even they did not prepare me for the splendor of the actual article. It is a solid, sturdy piece of jewelry. but with the elegance of a genuine work of art. The Roman numerals are clear, sharp, and easy to read, but you don't need to open the watch to learn the time: you can see the position of the hands through the opening of the case. A matching opening in the dial lets you watch the escapement tick back and forth (I find this both soothing and fascinating). The price is low considering the quality of the watch, and even lower when you consider the pleasure and pride of owning something so lovely.

I love the look of this watch, and it's easy to get mesmerized watching the works "tick". At this price, I'm SURE it's not really gold (probably "gold tone"), but it's close enough for me. The hands are a very fine and small, so it's a little hard to read in dim light, but then how many times will I be doing THAT? Keeps good time, and completes my "Old West" look nicely. This pocket clock is very attractive; I like the flip-open case, and the authentic-old style Roman numerals. I am a volunteer docent and tour guide at the local National Park, and when leading tours for 4th-grade history classes, it comes in handy in teaching the kids how to tell time with an analog watch, for they only seem to know smart phones. Will "clockwise" and "counterclockwise" lose their meaning?

The skeleton dial can be a bit distracting and can make it difficult to discern the hour hand in some positions. It may just be a matter of acclimation. I was glad to find this available.
