Excellent quality, excellent color, excellent material and texture. Perfect length below the knee, perfect length in the arms and generally what I have been looking for in a long time.

This was my first purchase from the Historical Emporium, and it was a good experience. The coat arrived within a few days of placing the order, faster than I had expected. It is hard to find this style of coat anymore, measuring 51 inches from collar to hem, a very formal appearance. The coat itself is very sharp, elegant and rich looking; I especially love the velvet collar. It's a wool overcoat with a silky interior lining, and as such it is not extremely warm, but adequate for the type of coat it is. The sizing was perfect. I normally wear a 48L in suits, but I ordered this in a 46R and couldn't ask for a better fit. I ordered it a size smaller taking their recommendation to order a size smaller since I'm not wearing a suit jacket under the coat. My experience with this product and transaction was such that I will look to Historical Emporium again when I need speciality clothing.

So difficult to find a great, full length, traditional topcoat today! This is truly a beauty. It is well made, very nice looking, and extremely versatile. A wonderful, finishing touch to a traditional suit, a formal tuxedo/tailcoat ensemble, and also pairs well with period attire for daytime or evening. Just fantastic!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

Ordered this for my husband for Christmas and always a bit nervous buying clothes online where you can't really check it out first. No worries on this one! This is a great classic dress coat, heavyweight cashmere and wool blend that gives it an expensive feel and the velvet collar adds just a touch of retro class. Husband is a 42 and, as the site suggested, I ordered the next size down since he won't wear this over a suit jacket. Perfect fit! As an added bonus, delivery was quick and it got here in plenty of time for Christmas even when ordering it in the middle of December.

I love the older styles, and I love long coats in particular. Being 6 ft 5 in, and of a sizable firth makes shopping difficult. Not only was this in a big enough size (I ordered mine in a 52), but there was an "L" option as well. The coat fits great, and it even gives me an amazing silhouette. My only critique (not complaint) is that the buttons felt a little loose. Like they were ready to fall out, or they could easily be torn off. Not a big deal though. Nothing a little sewing can't fix.

I love the materials used on this Topcoat, it really oozes quality for a good price. I also wanted to adress an issue I have overall on this site, which was extra prevalent on this item (even with an undercoat). Us europeans aren't as large as you americans. I always buy your smallest size and I'm an average/small sized 22 yo male who drowns in every single one of them. A huge part of my life is your clothes since I wear them daily but I don't have the money to resize all of the clothes I buy here. I don't know how many international buyers you have but I daresay that I can't be the only one who suffers from this issue. Keep up the good work and a big thank you from Sweden!

If your reading this then you should get one. You will not be disappointed! As I said before, I wear 46L in suits and I purchased a 46L topcoat in black and it fit perfectly over my suit. Not to tight and not to loose. It was perfect. The customer care rep helped me all the way through. Much appreciated, because other people (1 company in particular) told me to buy my coat 1 size bigger. No, no, no...wasn't necessary with these guys. Moving on, I was concerned about shipping as I wanted to have my coat delivered to the hotel I was going to stay at. And to my surprise the coat arrived at the hotel 1 day ahead of schedule. When I got there I quickly checked into my room and tried it on. Perfect fit. Oh, did I mention that this east coast trip involved low 50 to 30 degree weather? The coat held up with no problem at all. I was most impressed with the style. Love the collar on the coat and it's sturdiness. Fellas, I'm not lying here, I don't work for the company. But since I'm picky about quality clothing, from under-wear to over-wear, inner-wear to outter-wear, I have to keep it real. Especially in these days and times when we all know this is not the time to be wasting money. You will not waste it here! Check'em out..........
