Vintage Style Wide Brim Hats
The main function of a wide brim hat was to shield its owner's eyes and face from the many elements of nature, including sun, wind, and rain. Worked great 150 years ago, and still works great today!
Our wide brim hats come in a variety of authentic styles, with different crown shapes providing different looks. One of the most popular is our slouch hat, a highly versatile hat with a creased crown and a loose wide brim, worn from civil war times through the present day. Its wide brim served the dual purpose of shielding eyes from the sun and necks from the rain. Desert sun can be insufferable without a Laredo Hat on head. Brim casts a bit of shade to help blaze on through the glare, and can be tipped downward over the eyes at siesta. Our Huck Finn Hat tops off your next mischievous adventure - from rock skipping to cow tipping to pondering skinny dipping.
Most of our wide brim hats, including the Slouch, Laredo & Huck Finn, have pliable brims, but we do offer a couple of very stiff brimmed hats, the Montana and Planter.
We are proud of our unique selection of wide brim hats, and invite you to please contact us if you have any questions.
