Following his stint as a Texas Ranger, young Jeremiah used his credentials and shooting skills to land a job as a cowpuncher driving the large herds of Texas Longhorns across the desert to feed the growing population in Colorado.
One time on the Goodnight-Loving trail, Jeremiah went three days without sleep to reach water only to have his wrist broken during a final stampede when the herd smelled the Pecos River. Jeremiah's no tenderfoot, so this was only a minor inconvenience. He used his neckerchief to make a sling and finished the drive.
