Mr. Gallagher was born of Irish immigrants in these green hills and prospered as the owner of the local mercantile. As a means of relaxation, he brewed his own recipe of fine Irish whiskey making use of the best local ingredients: corn, rye and barley for his mash. Being of a generous nature he could always be depended upon to share the fruits of his labors with his friends.
But the gentlemen soon found that these small batches were insufficient for their appetites, so they pleaded with Mr. Gallagher to produce larger batches for sale. With the backing of the Gardner Bank and Trust, Mr. Gallagher opened a distillery that now employs 20 men and produces several thousand barrels of whiskey a year. Despite the heavy workload, he can often be found hosting or attending the best parties in the neighborhood.
He is shown here as he prepares to leave for his evening’s entertainment.
